Toledo.
Their schedule lines up nicely, as it is not that tough, but still gives them the chance to have one or two high profile wins.

If Tulsa is good (depends on their Offensive production) and an upset of Miami, they would be ranked heading into conference play. Western Michigan and NIU will need to be good as well, and USF, Boise, etc need to lose. With that, all very possible.

Ha your obsession with downplaying this league is both funny and clinical.

Wouldn't BSU always have to be considered a "Dark Horse" in every conversation on the subject?

I can see Toledo in the dark horse conversation, no doubt. Our game against them concerns me. Especially since it's at Toledo. Although I could see Tulsa being in the dark horse conversation just as well. But I just want us to beat Ok St. first for starters.

note regardless of how good tulsa is, the national media never gives them credit or anyone credit for beating them.. houston recieved no credit for beating them last year
and my guy fanhood, remember that tossup utsa game you were bickering about, vegas came out with an early line, we are a 17pt favorite ...looks like they agree

I would say they are the favorite after winning 3 out of the last 10 fiesta bowls.

There's more credit given than you think. Tulsa is generally considered a respectable opponent when matched up against OU and OSU. They don't dock them for playing us at least.

Interesting. Time will tell. I would definitely take the points, but then again, I almost always take the points.

Admittedly, I was surprised to see Street and Smith's have Tulsa picked to finish 2nd, while Memphis picked to finish 5th. What am I missing here?

I live in San Antonio so am pretty familiar with UTSAs program. You'll probably win but I highly doubt you'll win by 17. They're pretty good. Pretty much every so called power 5 team that comes to the Alamodome barely squeaks out a win on most occasions. All I'm saying is don't take it lightly.

Basically our defense should improve some and our O line is one of the best in the country. The running game will be a beast and our new QB should be fairly competent (we hope).

My opinion is that your OOC is extremely hard. @ OSU needs no description. New Mexico has a high powered running attack. Toledo could be a top 25 team. ULL is historically good, but could be down.
4-0 is possible, as is 1-3. What are your thoughts?

I think you're about right. But to really try and pin it down, 2-2 is realistic. 3-1 if we have great quarterback play. 4-0 if we somehow upset OSU. I think we can hang with them, but beating them is another story.

WKU - OOC is Vandy, Ill, Ball St, EKU - 13-0 probably gets them in if no other G5 is undefeated.

If Vandy loses to WKU and then goes 7-5 or 8-4 in the SEC then they will be a great win.

Sure, but how likely is that scenario. Losing to WKU would make those records that much harder. Just having hard time seeing where 7-8 wins come with that as an auto L.

From a national and probably even local perspective the FB Tigers don't have much experience with self promotion. They are likely better than being credited for. Honestly, I think most Tiger fans are holding their breath and pinching themselves. "Wait 'till next year" may have finally arrived.
Also, Tulsa is always tough and another typically underrated team (from a national perspective).
