Frisco announcement coming tomorrow?

Quote:Expect announcement from Conference USA Tuesday on league moving men's/women's basketball tournaments to The Star in Frisco. Smart move IMO. Gil Brandt (@Gil_Brandt)

Supposedly with two courts laid down in the building with maybe a curtain hanging between them.

This should provide a wonderful basketball experience compared to the BJCC

I removed the question marks...now have confirmation.

C-USA calls presser at The Star; sources indicate venue to host hoops tourney

Quote:Conference USA has scheduled a press conference for Tuesday at The Star in Frisco to announce an upcoming event at the Ford Center.

Multiple sources indicated to the Denton Record-Chronicle...that the announcement will be that the C-USA basketball tournaments will be held at the venue in 2018.

Where is Frisco, Texas? = Question being asked by most CUSA fans right now.

I was there last October. A quick flight into DFW and a short 30 minute drive to Frisco

The whole having to rent a car thing is kind of a pain in the ass.

So, North Texas is the host school? That basketball powerhouse? I want to be the first to complain about the home court advantage The Mean Green will have. Conference has always showed favoritism to them. LOL

Dropping a curtain in between two basketball courts really screams "big time".

My son's church rec league does the same thing. Except for not knowing which ref whistle belongs to which game, it works well and is a good use of space.

I didn't think CUSA could be more humiliated. I was wrong

Seriously that is ridiculous. I assume that means two games will be going on at once?

This sounds very amateurish. The CUSA tourney is now less than High School state tournaments

Get your tickets on the top row of the bleachers between the courts so you can watch both games.

It's cool guys, we might have lost this to a facility similar to the Hoover High School gymnasium, but as soon as we get a domed stadium we're going to have the football national championships in Birmingham

Events already scheduled at this place called the Star.

A dance camp for ages 3-6.
A Lacrosse championship.

Has anyone in Frisco or the C-USA administration explained how the two "sides" of the tournament will be accommodated in that one facility? Will they actually only "hang a curtain" and hope for the best? Perhaps there is some other way they plan to run both concurrently in that city.

Well if you don't like one game, you can turn around in your seat to watch the other
