ECU had 0 games on rated channels. O. That's bs.

ECU had 8 conference games on ESPNews and CBSSN so they weren't counted in this survey. Non conference games were carried on ACCN, SECN, ESPNU, ESPN3. Still a lot of value.

What is the conference doing to protect a team like ECU from not getting a single game on ABC/ESPN/ESPN2? Not even lowly ESPNu? Even Tulane got on (69k v Tulsa).....again, that's BS.

ESPN broadcasts all of Boise St.'s home games. But, yes, CBS-SN picks up Boise's road games and other decent MWC games.

Oh yeah, my bad. The Boise "sweetheart deal" where they get to play home games on the espn networks while good MWC teams like SDSU, Air Force, Colorado St and New Mexico play on no rating CBS-SN. I feel for them as ECU is getting the shaft on that one too. I hope ECU vs BYU is on ESPN.

That's probably a reflection of how out of contention ECU was by the time conference play got rolling. Kept getting pushed to the news.

G5s that averaged over 700k viewers

1) Houston 1,298,667 (ABC, 2ESPN, 2ESPN2, ESPN)
2) Memphis 1,018,250 (ABC, ESPN, 2ESPNU)
3) UCONN 972,000 (ESPN, ESPN2)
4) La Tech 926,000 (ESPN)
5) Temple 919,800 (ABC, 2ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU)
6) Navy 909,000 (ABC, ESPN2, ESPNU)
7) Cincinnati 735,250 (ESPN, ESPN2, 2ESPNU)

La Tech is the only G4 whose average viewership compares with the top half of the AAC. Their average is based on only one nationally televised game: the CUSA championship.

This also clearly shows why the MAC got a raise and CUSA got a reduction. The MAC is probably even underpaid, since their ratings are comparable with the MWC which gets twice as much.

I am impressed that UC and UConn are on the list considering that they were so bad last year. What's more neither program's numbers are skewed by a matchup against a school with a huge t-shirt fan base (ie. Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, etc.).
Since the data posted by the OP was conference games only, none of the numbers were skewed by a match up against a school with a huge t-shirt fan base.

Being on ABC really helps number of eyes on a game, doesn't it? Hope we get there soon.

RE: 2016 G5 Conference Viewership
In 2014, almost every ECU game was on ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU. Even year before last, ECU played VT in Greenville on ABC & ratings were great. This past year we stayed on ESPNN because we kept losing. That said, ECU's noon kick off in Greenville against NCSU was on ESPNU and received very good ratings for that channel & time slot. ECU's game against SC was on SECN. VT was on ACCN.

Well, the conference could have other teams tank their games against us. Geez, it's not rocket science after all.

But are the numbers skewed by a match up against a school with a huge t-shirt fan base?

What's behind the drop in games from '15 to '16? That jumped out at me, despite the uptick in viewers.
