Unfortunately, the entire Barefoot era was rebuilding.

Hey it's Wood. Expectations are very low. I'd settle for a single followed by a throwing error.

And now that Gianna Smith is transferring, it will be interesting to see who will take to Coast Rica this year. (freshman are not usually eligible to go on those international trips....) So that is Smith, Brown, and Manya Jones. Minus all the seniors that leaves....Bernardeco, Brew, Edwards, Ashley Jackson, Kelly Loftus (for one season left), Jessica Munoz, Oigbokie, and Timmons. Yeah... I still don't know what to think of Ajemba. Did she officially red shirt last season, is she graduating? I don't know... So 8 or 9 players. Hope they stay....

From KB's perspective, it's probably the best move for her. To go to a school where the expectations aren't "win, win, win". It would have been a challenge to even make the WNIT next season. Her contract would have not have been renewed baring a miracle season. She saved our team GPA. She gave us the Education Game. In the end, her X's and O's were questionable at best. Declining attendance record at ODU. (saved on paper by the education game...somewhat) And every season it seemed like PG was going to be our biggest problem. Which I always found ironic she KB was a former point guard.

I know the committee will take there time because they need to get this one right. ODU's program needs to go forward.

Karen Barefoot is Gone, Finally
Getting a bit sick to my stomach reading Barefoot tweet Wings Up, it's a great day, blah blah. She left us in a smoking hole. Despite her outward happiness, a part of me hopes that she feels a bit empty inside.

Feel the same, sad to see how bad off this historic program is right now.

Karen was obviously in over her head, but Wendy actually is the one who let the team crash and burn in the end. Barefoot had to go, but its not like she inherited a top 25 team. I'll always love Wendy for those good years though.

The best thing to do after a breakup is to stop following your ex on all forms of social media.

Yeah. That's 101. And delete all photos and/or untag yourself. =]

Karen is a fantastic individual. She didn't have the success we all wanted, but that does not take away from the type of person she is. Be happy for her.

You are right. The NCAA changed the rules back in 2010. Of course, for the women they are long overdue for an international trip. Every four years the NCAA allows one trip overseas. I don't think in the KB era we had a trip in the summer.

Belle Koclanes' (assistant coach under Wendy) brother Chris was on the girls scrimmage squad. Now that I think of it when I first started at ODU, our women were still ranked under Wendy. Becca, Mari, Jackie and the squad.

I used to play tennis with Chris. He was pretty good.

Him and his roommate Chad were my roommate an I's wingmen lol.

Chris has actually gone on to do pretty well for himself, I believe to eventually land himself a coaching gig.

Director of Basketball Operations at William and Mary, Video Coordinator for St. Joes, Assistant Volunteer coach at Dartmouth (under his sister Belle), and even video coordinator for Connecticut Sun during the 2016 WNBA.

Hoping his dreams work out for him and he sees continued success.

He's actually working at USC (Southern Cal) now in the same position, I believe.

Yeah he is, you're correct. He's doing it. Smart as you could ask for too.

People are not on these boards to bash anyone on a personal level or as an individual. This is college sports, winning is everything. If you dont win, you are going to hear about it. I am glad that she is gone because that means we can get another coach that start moving things in a better direction (on the court). Karen just never had enough of the x's and o's to be a really good coach at this level. It doesn't take away from being a good person tho.
