lol yall are stuck with him

Not unless it's true the SC is going to cancel the 2021 game at ECU too. There's another million in cancellation fees.
I suppose we are still at The Cocks in 2020.
As far as rivals in the AAC: I guess maybe UCF or Navy. Also, North Carolina and Tennessee touch, but Memphis to ECU is close to 1,000 miles away. ECU is far away from everyone in the AAC except Navy who plays in the other division. Most of our conference mates are over 1,000 miles away.

This is not true:

ECU to Navy - 299 miles
ECU to Temple - 412 miles
ECU to Cincy - 595 miles
ECU to UConn - 614 miles
ECU to UCF - 641 miles
ECU to USF - 695 miles
ECU to Memphis - 830 miles
ECU to Tulane - 948 miles

I edited that to say 600-1200 miles away. From where I am now it's over 1200. Houston, SMU, Tulsa are 1200 miles away from ECU.

This is not true. We averaged over 50k for the season with a home schedule that looked like this:

Virginia Tech Dowdy–Ficklen Stadium • Greenville, NC 49,404
UAB Dowdy–Ficklen Stadium • Greenville, NC 50,023
North Carolina* Dowdy–Ficklen Stadium • Greenville, NC 50,610
Tulane Dowdy–Ficklen Stadium • Greenville, NC 49,410
Southern Miss Dowdy–Ficklen Stadium • Greenville, NC 50,345[2]
UCF Dowdy–Ficklen Stadium • Greenville, NC 50,277

1st year of the new expansion. how about after that?

Actually that was the second year after new expansion. Third and fourth season after is below.

2012
ASU 49,023
UTEP 47,817
Memphis 45,137
UH 45,455
Marshall 46,317

2013
ODU 44,597
FAU 37,533
VT 50,096
USM 45,005
Tulsa 44,076
UAB 42,603

That 2012 showing is what I'm talking about. No power schools and worst showing was a CUSA school and it was "only" 45k. UTEP almost 48k....that's impressive.

App has an open away OOC spot for 2019 and a home OOC spot for 2023.04-cheers

We're not trading a home for an away. Anyway, we already have a series signed with y'all.

Getting kicked off your high horse by a P5 today hasn't dampened your spirits, good for you.

I'm just sayin' we need a home game, not away. We are done playing 5 home games like we did back in the 80's

Yeah, compared to Memphis. Actually 2012 was a little better. bb777 left off the Navy game, 48,327.
Looking at some home game average attendance comparisons for those years:
2012 Memphis 24,371 - ECU 47,152
2013 Memphis 27,311 - ECU 43,985

Even last year when ECU won only 3 games:
2016 Memphis 37,346 - ECU 44,113
This in spite of the fact that Memphis has a bigger stadium and went to a bowl game. ECU even had better attendance last year against an FCS team (Western Carolina 44,161) than Memphis had for any home game the entire season.

Sorry, just felt like some 'chop bustin' and 'chest poundin'. 03-nutkick

I was pointing out ECU got 48k for a CUSA team from 2,000 miles away. The Navy game is an obvious one for us. Big name, close proximity and a solid rivalry.

Gotcha. Just wasn't in the mood for letting one headlight get by with that one tonight. Sometimes I tend to go overboard.
Seriously, I don't think ECU will go 0-4 OOC. JMU is a must win. If we loose to JMU, the whole season may be lost. I do feel that Coach Mo will be trending up and has to win at least one of the other three. 2 out of 4 wouldn't be too bad considering. 3 to 5 more would be a trend in the right direction.
It's hard to get a feel for how the season will go until we see Coach Mo's system in place with his players. Possibly not until next year.

To be fair maybe there are conversations we aren't privy too that includes lowering the buyout of that game for a contract extensions of several more games.

Or it could have escalations built in (only $1m if cancelled within 2 years, but less prior to that...or something) or any other kinds of legal nonsense.

That too so it would be based on when the official cancellation notice was and all of that. It's not always cut and dry

Well he could have peeked at the contract before addressing it in public.

It's a bad look.
