That's amazing as none of us wanted to be associated with Louisville as well

........want a G5 playoff.

A G4 playoff would be dominated by the MWC. I'd watch it. I don't want the AAC anywhere near it though.

Louisville is a founding member of CUSA. There was nothing to join. You spawned it.

Maybe Rick's aborted love children didn't want it either. The UL basketball escorts like the ACC more too.07-coffee3

When the SEC and B1G realize that the big TV payday is at its max, then they will look for additional sources of revenue and separating the P5 + ND will be how they do it. In case you haven't noticed, they only share money until sharing begins to impact their own bottom line then they cut it off. They will get their way. ALL the networks, not just ESPN, do whatever the P5, and especially the SEC and B1G, want because they draw the ratings and sell ads.

The only good thing about a G5 playoff is the country would complain that okay the winner of the G5 should play the winner of the P5 for all the marbles

There's some truth to this post. At some point, schools like Wake Forest, Duke and Iowa State are going to have their welfare checks revoked.

Actually they have ALREADY done this. The next step will be when Bama, Ohio State etc wonder why are they sharing their check is with the Miss State, Purdue etc.

They broke off from the old college football tv contract to the conference. Next step would be to go it along. Ohio State TV deal on its own could be more without sharing it with the Purdues

I'm getting real sick of you ducking my question, Old Man. I realize you're completely senile and routinely forget to do things you should've done weeks ago. So if you tell me who this "former teammate" I allegedly attacked is, I'll leave you alone to wallow in the dementia I'm sure you're suffering from.

Memphis pres. shot it down back when he first brought it up.

Working on 2016 ten worst ideas list, struggling a bit. Then ran across idea of a G5 national FB playoff. Takes the top spot. Actually 1-10

The goal of this effort is simple: permanently separate G5 from P5 conferences. Not something we're willing to do. We'll compete. And win.

I don't know. I don't even know who this "former teammate" is. I've been asking him for weeks and he's, predictably, been ducking my questions. Probably because he's full of sh*t and there is no "former teammate". But that's just speculation on my part.

The move for the G5 is not a playoff but to work with the P5 to develop a bowl series where their champs would get a chance to play a P5 in non-CFP bowls.

Holiday
Las Vegas
Alamo
Gator

That would be more interesting for the public to see how the G5 conference champions do.

^^^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^

The UH vs SDSU Vegas Bowl ratings showed that the better G5 teams ARE interesting to a national audience. The ratings for the G5 access bowl have been quite good as well. Pairing the top G5's against high finishers from P5 conferences has great potential.

Unfortunately most g4 programs have fanbases the size of high school softball programs.

There has been some great games that got tons of attention and great attendance that weren't "power team vs power school that prove it:
2004 Fiesta Bowl: Utah (MWC) vs Pitt (Big East)
2006 Fiesta Bowl: Boise St (WAC) vs Oklahoma
2007 Ft Worth Bowl: Houston (CUSA) vs TCU (MWC)
2008 Ft Worth Bowl: Boise St (WAC) vs TCU (MWC)
2008 Sugar Bowl: Utah (MWC) vs Alabama
2009 Fiesta Bowl: Boise St (WAC) vs TCU (MWC)
2011 HOD Bowl: Houston (CUSA) vs Penn St
2013 Fiesta Bowl: UCF (AAC) vs Baylor
2014 Fiesta Bowl: Boise St (MWC) vs Arizona
2015 Orange Bowl: Houston (AAC) vs Florida St
2016 Las Vegas Bowl: Houston (AAC) vs SDSU (MWC)

No way ucf would support it. You're essentially giving up hope of becoming a real d-1 school. The power schools would absolutely love it. The g4 can have this pee wee championship.

But could Central Florida play as an Independent? So what do you do, if the majority of The American Schools vote for a G5 playoff and it comes to fruition? 07-coffee3

LOL... C'mon Wilkie... Even you know your post here ^^^ is troll bait.
