RE: Looking Ahead to Next Year
Giddy Potts has been there longer than WKU's QB Doughty.

Is this his 10th year?

I gotta give the other guys credit.....he does look 40 yrs old....

still fun to watch, but the eye test rarely lies 03-wink

to the subject line of the op??? southern miss has a couple of sit-out transfers and the first year of 'matter' after the 'DT wrestling' debacle....many within our fan base are wanting heads chopped....IMO, this will be Sadler's first year to prove his worth...time will tell

Ask us again in early November when we finally figure out who hasn't transferred or failed to make it to campus.

That is so true. A positive view would be that we have 7 of the top 8 players returning and some promising recruits coming and if they all show then UTEP should contend for the league title. The pessimistic view is that we always seem to lose a couple of players to transfer or euro ball and some of the recruits fail to show. So yeah, November sounds about right. Of course, this year, after the team had played a few games we lost our best rebounder due to a clash with Floyd. So even November is not a sure thing.

I would think the 2 transfers, Tyree Griffin (5-10, PG) and Dominic Magee (6-4, G), along with Cortez Edwards (6-2, G) would be good projections for the starting lineup.

After that, who knows? Hopefully, we can bring in a player or 3 with some talent in the spring signing period.

and that's the point how too many are calling for Sadler's head....

shite, it's a miracle we were somewhat competitive this year with a depleted bench coupled with the injuries....AND the DT WRESTLING DEBACLE....at some point, one has to give the man an opportunity of fair value....

it's insane to carry a hatchet at this point....two years from now???? then I'll bow the the 'pontiffs' if the losing continues....

Stink and I in the same room would more than likely turn into conversation on music much more than sports. If we discussed sports we'd be planning the destruction of ESPN and its whore-mouth. As much as both of us have grown up on sports it's music that never lets us down.

Here. Enjoy this. I was just listening to it while I changed oil on the G37x in preparation for a road trip to Flarda to visit my cousins.

I'm pretty sure the two of you could make a conversation about paint drying interesting.

Oh and respect on the oil change. No man should be taking his ride to a corporation for an oil change (sans certain circumstances).

I understand folks that have really busy lives using the quick changes but for less money I can put a really good synthetic and really good filter in myself. Getting my tires rotated in the morning. I could do that but as much as I paid for these Michelins I went with last time it came with it.

Plus when I do my oil I know exactly how tight I have the drain plug and the filter. My brother went to one years ago and they didn't tighten the drain plug tight enough and he ended up losing it going down the highway. He shut it down so didn't blow it up but they take hobos off the street and put them in those jobs. Cars cost too much to ruin one to something like that.

RE: Looking Ahead to Next Year
I guess a lot of you have the CUSA runner up Marshall dead in the water since no one is mentioning them. Yes we lose 3 starters but we aren't completely void of talent, Jon Elmore, Terrence Thompson, CJ Burks, and Phil Bledsoe can all score from a drive to the basket to 3 point land. We also have 6'4 Wake Forest SG Rondale Watson eligible this year. If Dan gets one or both of the grad transfers and the NCAA rules on Bennett, then watch out.

My take is come next year Marshall will be much quicker to the basket and much improved defensively. As Dan said once CJ Burks is a lil bulldog, he will hound you till you make a mistake. Rondale Watson the WF transfer is from Lewisburg WV and was named to the all defense team all 4 years he attended Greenbrier East High School.

The Five Games I know of on Marshall's schedule:
at Morehead
Akron
at Ohio
EKU
UTC (Chattanooga)
at Toledo

Rumored Game
at South Bend IN -- Notre Dame

I'm sure we will be back in the Global Sports Invitational again most likely that will give us a mid high to high major to play and then most likely 2 RPI killers and a decent middle team.

Yep. I put brakes in this category too. I've had lugnuts not tightened before. But perhaps as important is the fleecing that goes on in that business. Where I live $500 to $800 to put on a set a brake pads. WTF? Pay 50 or 60 bucks for the pads and 90 minutes on a Saturday afternoon and I just saved hundreds of dollars. The jack expense pays for itself.

Epic thread derail. But it would be better if stinkfist would weigh in at this point!!

Yep. Brakes too. Last time I went to Florida I had my tires rotated and they came in and said I was really low on the rear pads. I asked them how much and they said 190 to do the rear ones. I said I appreciated them letting me know but not right now. Stopped on the way home to pick some up and had them done in around an hour for the price of the pads. Best ceramic they had and I was off on my trip the next morning. Brakes are a job average joe can do. Especially discs. Drums a little more difficult just because you don't see them much anymore. When I was younger I was afraid to do brakes. I've done oil changes all my life but didn't start doing my own brakes until around 10 years ago.

And if you don't know how to do it some good soul has done a video on YouTube to show you how. 04-cheers

And now you look back at your younger self on why you were scared to do them and laugh. Brakes are one of the easier self maintenance jobs you can do. I would rather do brakes than change windshield wipers. Those damn clips!

Think I'll savor this a little longer cause it's been the Best Year in MT MBB History, although missing the Sweet Sixteen Stings a whole lot! Ok! Now I'm ready to move forward. If, and this is a Big IF, Kermit stays: To paraphrase General MacArthur (whose wife Jean was born in Nashville and her Mama lived in the Boro) MT SHALL RETURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!:04-cheers

If he leaves we might take a step back; but we will still see the Postseason beyond the CUSA Tourney in 201702-13-banana

Yes, Ot Elmore is still on the team and will be a senior next year. The coaching staff should know something this summer about Jon's status, Gay Elmore VMIs all time leading scorer and leading SoCon scorer until broken by Steph Curry in 2009 is suppose to meet with the VMI AD and president some time in the next few months. Gay Elmore offered VMI 50,000 for Jon's 1st year tuition and room and board but they turned that down. They are trying to extort money from Gay. They want 225,000 for both Jon and Ot for all 4 years of school, even though Ot was a walk on at VMI and could have left at anytime. If Gay can't compromise with them and refuses their demands I don't blame him. Just means Jon gets cheated out of a year and only plays three. It also means there is no way we could even think about red shirting Jarrod West.
