I only had one game wrong till SMU and I had them going a ways.
I didn't realize how bad we were..to lose by 40. I just thought they were the greatest team ever. lmao
We had a team that didn't want to compete against SMU.
In theory maybe. But I've never heard of a team that doesn't wanna compete. That's. No. Team. And that's. No Coach.
ok..i better go away for awhile..sigh
You're bad wrong on that one. I've seen it many times - coaching, even playing. Definitely watching. You claim to want to compete. You look like you want to compete. But you don't care. Just go through the motions once the game starts.
No. You're bad wrong.
That is called hopelessness.
If you have leadership, hopelessness doesn't invade the spirit of young kids and then spread to the whole. effing. team. Something is wrong somewhere at the top of that food chain. Maybe more than one something.
I have competed and performed under hopeless conditions and resigned myself to just going through the motions. But I still cared---underneath I still cared. The caring just gets suppressed.
I saw that team care at the beginning of the season. Then the demoralized hopelessness set in...and leadership was not adequate to reverse it.
You're jumping to conclusion. Trying root cause deduction without going through all the steps.
Regardless, hopeless or not. Players, coaching, leadership - whatever. Some teams get to the point of not wanting to compete. You claim it doesn't happen. That's where you're wrong.

The myth is that Vandy athletes are held to the same standards as the regular student population.
Myth or not you can watch their teams fold after midterm exams more often than not

Your're half right and half wrong with that statement. You never go through the motions just to play the game. You play the game to win.

I don't consider us to be mid major----but the world considers us to be because officially we are. Bruce Pearl on trutv just said that Middle Tennessee St is the best mid major program in the country and will beat Butler. WOW WOW how we have fallen.

Uhm... hello. You jumped to your own conclusion by misinterpreting my exact words. I never claimed it doesn't happen. I just said I had never heard of a team that doesn't want to compete. Those were my exact words. You popped into the thread, telling me I was bad wrong...bad wrong about what? Never having heard of a team that doesn't want to compete? Or the words 'in theory, maybe' lol. You can't tell me I'm bad wrong about what I've heard or seen and be right.
In my first response to your post, I just ignored the fact you misinterpreted my exact words; for the sheer fun of it, I answered back with the same kind of post. You're bad wrong, you said. No, you're bad wrong, I said. It was just supposed to be humorous banter. lol. Now, though, I'm bored and you're bad wrong. lol
No amount of discussion or 'arguing' back and forth is going to take my mind off the crux of the problem-- how far our BB program has fallen.
the end.

I'm pulling for MTSU but I also have to agree - it is sobering just how far we've fallen.

It was less the part about what you've seen or heard. And more the part at the end of that statement. It sorta indicated more definitively that it never happened. It does. It did. Blame whoever you want. But they obviously started quitting at the Orlando UCF game, and finalized their quitting about 5 minutes into the Dallas SMU game.
But it's all good. You can be wrong sometimes, lol.

Well if Bruce said it, it has to be true. Dude don't lie.
I guess they're better than us, Gonzaga, Butler, Wichita State, Dayton...
Heck, by my definition, Auburn is more mid-major than those mentioned. So I guess MTSU is better than his team.
Good for him. He may get a chance to compete against Kermit 2 times a year, next year.
