I went to some Sampson radio shows this year where he went out of his way to say Gray is coming back next year.

Seconded. UConn to the Big East is what's best for all parties at this point.

I really have no faith in any of those guys ability to raise the level of their current program. I think Ollie has the best chance due to talent and the fact he has to or he'll be gone.

Trust to turn around the team or to deliver March wins? Or something else?

If it's to turn the program back around it's s Dunphy for me. He's too good and too smart of a coach not to get it fixed. Maybe he'll even embrace recruiting at some point.

I just don't see Temple having much of ceiling under Dunphy at this point. We've won two tournament (never a Sweet 16) games under his watch. We've been ranked a grand total of 24 weeks (never in the top 10 and not since March 5th of 2012) in the 11 years under Dunphy. We've only entered the season ranked once and never finished the year ranked. I just don't see Temple taking the next step nationally under our current regime. The sample size to me suggests we're nothing more than a bubble team under Dunphy.

Ollie has to get UConn back to nationally relevancy. Ranked, in the conversation all year and/or tournament success imo. I trust UConn's administration to make a move to maintain legitimacy more than any other school's in the AAC.

You make some good points on Dunphy, but I still think he's capable of a quick turnaround for TU. Your point about the ceiling is well received though. I agree that Dunphy can only take Temple so far and that is likely not as far as the fans want the program to go.

As for Ollie, next year is make or break. He had a ton of injuries this year so for anyone to base his coaching abilities on this year alone is as dumb as basing his coaching abilities on his national championship year alone. From those I trust (wife works at the school tidbits trickle sometimes) the AD will not accept another year like this year next. It's put up or shut up time for him so I think your right about the administration.

Nah, it's a fun little thing in the fall, but there's nothing American football adds to UConn that they can't acheive as an Indy. The whole reason they started up a football program in the first place was to save basketball in the coming Big East split, but there's a perfectly viable high-major basketball-only conference with the old name and everything. Had they known that would happen it's questionable they would have moved up football at all to begin with. At this point they're throwing good money after bad accommodating a football team that was only created to accommodate basketball.

This UCONN fan never believed the reports sending UCONN to the nBE. It was a red herring, IMO. Just like I don't believe the reports that have Wichita St coming to the AAC as a bball only. Other than tourney credits, what's the upside? I don't believe for a second that ESPN gives any thought to propping this conference up in bball, via "compelling" games. To do so would mean having to pay us more for our next contract, and that's just something that they have zero desire to do.

Doubtful. UConn keeps chasing this football thing, but they're a basketball school in a conference with a group of football (or in the case of SMU/Cincy, balanced) schools. UConn makes worlds of sense for the Big East and Fox, both in terms of packing the conference tourney (and thus holding on to MSG) and getting FS1 the UConn women as broadcasting inventory. They just need to get realistic about what their situation is.
