Don't forget he still has to schedule teams as well, I have heard nothing about future OOC teams of this date. We use to always know a few of the OOC teams we would be playing.

His last five classes. Has to be doing other than recruiting.

2017 57
2016 92
2015 73
2014 69
2013 110

But if those were his golf scores, we could say his game is getting better?

Think Louisville is back on the tape in MSG?

I think Tubby hates losing and is working as hard as he can to right the ship, but he is elderly. It is unfair to expect him to have the energy, hunger, and drive of someone in his 30's, 40's, or even 50's. I give Tubby credit for toiling when most people his age draw Social Security and enjoy their well-earned leisure.

They can't provide any proof because it's all fabricated bull****!

That's what makes a message board great. Variating opinions on things. People can claim whatever they want. Lighten up. If someone says something you don't like it ignore it and move on. We will see what happens next year. See what kinda players he brings in. So far not looking good.

You're right. I like the three players that have committed thus far. They're very athletic and are better athletes than what we have currently. They're very coachable. Johnson, Enoch, and I can't think of the kid from Florida's name.

Yes, David Nickelberry. They say he plays multiple positions. Enoch just won his second high school state championship and Jamal Johnson is a baller. If Tubbs can throw in a few Jucos...ladies and gents...we've got ourselves a team that will show some toughness, play defense, can shoot, and will compete and fight. Looking forward to next season COGS

There will probably be quite a few with south east or north west, etc, etc in their name

RE: Wonder what Tubby's doing today?
I haven't posted on this board in a long, long time. But this thread (and just watching Josh beat Indiana pretty good) prompted me to give my two cents.

I grew up in the Coliseum in the 80s. Know that electricity when Louisville and others came to town and CBS brought their own lights to hang around the perimeter of the court. The ball would go to Keith Lee and the turn-around.... money in the bank as he greased it in the hoop. The deafening "DOOM" roar. Big Jack making David Jensen the "Wendy's Player of the Game" simply because he played in a blow out. Too many memories to type. Just sharing that I know my Tiger history.

But, when I see Tiger fans on this board, seemingly trying to run off another coach, it's mind-boggling. I watch from a distance these days, and yes, the sports fans here in Minnesota know Tubby well, and have some of the same conclusions some of our fans have about his style.... e.g. riding gravy trains.

The culture of Memphis basketball has changed tremendously in the past ten years. No coach in his right mind would have stepped in behind Cal. Josh did and kudos to him, and it didn't work out in the end. But the next chapter is here, and I just hope the culture that developed in Josh's last years doesn't continue, because from what I'm reading, many of the fans are part of the problem.

Just give Tubby a freakin' chance.

RE: Wonder what Tubby's doing today?
Many of you still fail to understand the main premise in us bringing Tubby Smith on. He is someone who knows how to bring stability to a program. That is what we needed to do before any big name coach in the future would ever consider coming here. The dumpster fire that opie created, created a situation where people would have rather follow Calipari here than Pastner. Josh Pastner and his inexperience and inability to recognize his flaws here destroyed the Memphis Tiger program. If Tubby Smith can succeed in restoring stability and respect to the program we have a much better shot at getting a big-name hire two or three years from now. It will be 2020 before we come close to what much of us were expecting even for this year

Tiger coaches for the past 45 years or so (except Tic Price/Johnny Jones) brought the school to the NCAA Tourney within 2 to 3 years after their hire. Bartow (followed Moe Iba) Finch (probation) and Calipari (followed Tic Price/Johnny Jones) each inherited a mess. I am not ready to diminish the standard expectation under Tubby or any other coach.

Keep in mind, when we talk about our fanbase and it's state of mind we are talking about 6-8k that were coming to games this year which is bad but it certainly way bigger than a few misguided people on a message board who like to say stupid **** and hide behind a keyboard. I think most real fans were starting to get behind Tubby as attendance grew throughout the season until our late season nose dive. I have no doubt he is out recruiting right now trying to bring in way more talented players than he inherited, which shouldn't be hard.
