Considering I grew up near Philly, I can tell you Temple is a crime ridden dirt hole. And I love the city...

People are really clamoring to visit Greenville, North Carolina...

People are running for their lives in Philly, literally.

I'll tell you one thing, Lebo would be running for his life if he lived in Philly.

Lol, I agree. I am missing some Philly pretzels and a Nick's roast beef sandwich right now.

Can you kidnap him and take him there? Please?

Charlotte. I guess it's a good thing Greenville is 250 miles from Charlotte.

You are confusing ECU with UNCC. But for the record Greenville does have its share of crime, it ain't paradise but it ain't a combat zone either.

Nah, ECU's big win was back on Feb. 15. Don't worry, Temple has a chance to redeem itself from shame today at 3:30. Anyone boasting how their school's basketball is better after losing to ECU by 14 is so funny. I've been home sick for a few days and I really need a good laugh.03-lmfao

Man, if your big win was over a .500 ball club...boy do I feel bad for you. At least when Temple sucks, they still beat a few good teams. Also since Temple beat ECU by 19 earlier I guess we are +5pts better overall by your rational going in to today...

Let's do that with Football shall we... Temple has outscored ECU 81-34 since AAC football has begun.

Well, at least you guys can claim your school is in a better neighborhood. Hang that from a banner!

And ECU is 7-7 against Temple in Football all-time (unless you don't count the game Temple had to forfeit from 1986 for cheating). So what.

The point BEH was touting was how much better Temple's basketball was than ECU. Seriously? Temple's claim to fame is they are better than ECU? When you lose to ECU in basketball, it's a sad, sad day. Where is the shame? Where is the outrage? Why aren't heads rolling at Temple?
If ECU pulls off a win today I don't know if I'll be laughing because ECU beat Temple twice in one year or saying "Oh crap, now we'll never get rid of Lebo."

Yeah, I think the winsipedia record throws out the 1986 game that was forfeited, but I'll take the 7-6.

Funny, my original post was about a football coaching hire. It went from Philly is a dirt hole to rioting in Charlotte, from food to ECU basketball. Thanks to shadowman for throwing out a challenge with that owl and the eye patch thing, but I've seriously got more important things to do the rest of the day.

If anyone takes this stuff too seriously...

You shouldn't brag about beating one of our worst teams ever. We still beat FSU and WVU despite being complete ****. You beat Queens, Johnson and Wales, and Johnson C Smith.

Temple has played horrible since end of Dec. This Temple team had no heart and the Seniors were not team leaders. I expect much better things with Josh Brown back next year and the incoming recruiting class.

Congrats ECU

Congrats ECU!

I don't think anyone fears Lebo. Perry had the Pirates playing better.

It was certainly not a good Temple team by historical standards...

Both Temple and ECU deserve better. If ECU wins the tourney, the Pirates will surpass the .500 mark.

Kind words BEH (love what you did with your 'I root for'). No hard feelings to JHG or TF1, just kidding around today. Hope Temple sees the improvement they are looking for. I really like the conference and would like to see it stronger across the board. ECU has never had a basketball culture and it is hard to see one coming with Lebo. Very good chance he will still be here next year so who knows?

What are the odds ECU has rooms booked for tonight in Hartford?

I thought this was a football thread.

A while back a friend of mine lives up there in north Philly and heard a window breaking downstairs in his town home. He went to investigate and found a hand reaching into his kitchen over the sink. He stabbed them with a steely knife, but he apparently just couldn't kill the beast. Still, he heard quite a scream and steps running away on the sidewalk outside. My sister attended Temple for her PhD and got mugged near campus while sitting in her car at a stoplight. Thankful still for the police officers nearby on stakeout who interrupted with her 'only' losing her purse. I used to love south Philly and games at the Vet, but for all I know north Philly is getting better than it used to be through some much needed gentrification.

Greenville has its' moments in crime as well. I don't know why Gaither chose to leave after a couple of months. We know he's from our area and it may be as simple as wanting to come back. He seems like a good pickup.
