It would be really nice for us to get some help for Shabazz at some point. Guys knees are gonna go out soon from carrying this team all season.

At least we won't have to look at those ugly ass uniforms any more.

The uniforms are one of the few positives from this season imo.

And are a total of 7(now 8)-2 against teams on that half of the bracket.

It does, but that team was exhausted at the end of the year. Just not enough depth or size to compete.

Frankly, the only advantage to a pay to play is to give practice time to your younger players, but we've got about half a roster of Brady kids that still need to be jettisoned. It just doesn't make a ton of sense overall. We showed a lot of progress this season, but there is still a long way to go.

If those things were a positive, we are in worse shape than I thought. Looked like something a Saturday Rec League team picked up in the discount bin.

I don't buy that whole practice stuff, especially in basketball. They are getting plenty of practice time as it is, plus what, two extra practices in March are not going to make any difference at all.

Exactly, if it's not at the least the NIT then they are much better off at home and in class, especially as the semester winds down.

My sources tell me Graves will be back next year. I think USA will honor the final year of his contract.

That would be awful for us. I'm calling for a new AD in that case.

These pay to pay tournaments do allow teams time to practice when others can't

Similar in football when some top flight P5 schools in off years- fans say " we don't deserve a bowl game". Coaches jump on a "lesser" bowl so they can have extra weeks of practice

You can practice for the game and start making evaluations for next years crop, as sort of a early spring practice season.

I've seen both UTA and ULM use these tournaments to benefit them, but I'm just not sure it makes sense for us.

Your sources are correct. As admiral as it may be to honor the contract, I just don't see this as a good move for our program. It will be tough to recruit the caliber of player we need to succeed when they know what will happen after next season. I fear another dark season for the Jags next year. The coach after him will have an even tougher time digging us out of this mess.

After a one point lead at halftime, UALR dominated the second half and beats App 69-53.

Also, just wanna give props to a first class move from UALR's Coach Foley. When he got handed his Coach of the Year trophy before the game, he walked over and handed it to App's coach Angel Elderkin. For those that don't know Coach Elderkin has been battling endometrial cancer over the last year and a half.

Football is a lot different than basketball in this case; basketball can do so much in the offseason that is not officially practice that resembles practice. Those two extra practices that basketball teams are getting to play in the CBI mean nothing to the grand scheme of success.
