Now can we talk about UNCC?
Start the thread and we'll talk.
Done.

It only matters when an institution thinks its franchise and branding is worth something. Ours may not be... lol.

RE: ODU Master Plan
IIRC Iowa sued USM because they thought the look of their logo was too close to that of their own. I don't know what damage they were suffering as a result, but I belI've they did force the Golden Eagles to modify their design. Iowa did however suffer a degree of negative PR in the process which for all anybody knows could have been worse than the perceived damage. At least those two schools were competing at the same level.
In 2008 MLB sued The Cape Cod League, and other entities of Little League Baseball, for copywrite infringement of team names, and various logos. They took a tremendous PR hit, and came off as very petty.
My point is, Ohio Dominican is a small, Catholic, D II university. Some branding script, and one of their logos bears some resemblance to ours. Is any damage being done to our brand that would be worth both the financial cost, and the possible negative PR cost of suing them over it?

What, pray tell, does any of this have to do with ODU's master plan?

^^^ Nothing, but I did not start this conversation. Almost every single thread on this board gets diverted, and I'm not crazy about that either, but when an off-topic conversation is going on, and I have something of value to add to it I will.

Doug Ripley walked through the basketball practice facility during his coaches show. The walkthrough starts around the 13 minute mark:

I must say, it looks bigger on the inside than it does from outside.

I think the next step is to get approval from the General Assembly, during their session this year. Hopefully Ed Miller will keep us informed.

Anybody know why the site of the new museum has a sign advertising the site is available for commercial opportunity?

The sign is just saying that financing was handled by Towne Bank.

Sign reads----> " Another Commercial Real Estate opportunity made available by Town Bank"
I'd have to look up specifics on this point but wasn't that land part of the ED grab?

If IIRC the NRHA was acting as a conduit on most of the land deals on that side of Hampton Blvd. Maybe ODU had to purchase the land from them.

It would join the education building as an LEED Silver building.
