Do you know much ground we have lost in BB revenue under his tenure? Over $15M per year since he started. That includes required per seat donations for LL/Club season tickets.

Having a subpar coach who is despised by a good percentage of the fan base and who you can't get rid of will do that to you.

Yep, agree completely.

Pointing the finger (I'll let you choose which one...) directly at the problem that got us into that shape.

The initial hire was ill conceived. The Contract given to him under Bowen was a disaster.

Who was the alum that was in the running for AD last time ? He was with the Cowboys in marketing I believe. It would be nice for an alum to get it especially with a marketing background.

Seems like many things had to add up badly to make that disaster happen.

That being said, many think the program is improving now and I agree.

Sure feels exciting again. And we can all see improvement in the players that had gotten stuck. I like that.

I agree with a earlier comment, Hire Ziggy!!!. I would hate to see Bowen leave, but if he does I hope he gives us a Football home and home.

Mike Alford was with the Cowboys and is now with Oklahoma. He lived in Memphis thru Jr. High but graduated from UAB and Arkansas.

Yea, these non conference schedules Bowen has put together for next 3-4 years are awesome!

Having the same agent as the coach you are negotiating a contract extension with can sometimes lead to situations like that.

This.
He can't be gone fast enough.

Seems strange. I have been around him before and he kept asking me what the score was. He asked more often than I, as a crazy fan, was checking it. I was a bit annoyed. He had some of his staff around...I was thinking: ask one of your subordinates to keep the score pulled up for you. But I did get the feeling that he was all about the Tigers. So it could have just been an off night or something else on his mind.

Perhaps it was his conversation starter...

Based on reading the comments, sounds like people on this board are divided about Tom Bowen (or Bowman as one poster referred to him as).

Sure he does...for all sports except two.

And he doesn't handle contract extensions either

The last few years when I called friends who had season tickets for years and asked why they weren't at games, it was always the Bowen mentioned and had nothing to do with the coach.
