Some people are more athletic than their bodies can handle.

Quit those when he left Memphis.

Best wishes for you, Derrick.

How many of you attribute these injuries to jumping to the NBA too soon?

DRose, Penny, they were running down a list on Mike and Mike and though they didn't mention anything about guys who went to the NBA early, in my mind I was saying, he went early, that guy went early, so I wonder in some cases even thought the talent is there, is the body really ready for that grind for some guys?

You do know Penny sat out a year and played two at MSU?

The leaving early to go pro argument doesn't hold water at all.

Explain, Lebron, Kobe and Garnett? All of them jumped straight from HS to the Pros, none of them have had multiple season (or possibly career) ending injuries. Kobe has them now but he is past his prime basketball-wise.

I've heard people blame the brand of shoes, but paul george broke his leg in half while wearing nikes. It would be interesting to see how injuries stack up for nba players wearing nikes vs reebox vs adidas, etc.

I will say that when i played a lot of basketball, i suffered two big ankle injuries while wearing puma and adidas. After the last injury, i have always worn nike, because i felt like they supported me better. It might have been just a mental thing though. I will only wear nikes to this day.

Obviously it doesn't happen to everyone. But Kendrick Perkins was hurt early, Shaun Livingston, Tracy McGrady was hobbled after his first two years. I ran across a list a couple of years ago which is why I posted that thought in the first place. Someone had done a story and it was kind of eye opening.

Screw Derrick Rose.

Screw his damn weak knees: Yeah, he has all the talent and potential in the world, but apparently he just can't hang with the big boys. Durability counts, and apparently he does not have it. Speaking of 'weak-kneed' (weak and shaky as a result of fear or excitement): Ya' boy missed a free throw, with ten seconds left, that would have 'iced' the National Championship. Fail.

Screw his stupid looking expressionless face: You can tell, just by looking, he is dumb as a damn rock. Have you ever listened to interviews with him? It's obvious he's not the sharpest crayon in the box. If you want to be a professional, then you need to be able to speak like one. Fail.

Screw his pea-brain: If that dumb ass could not pass the SAT, then that dumb ass had no business playing NCAA ball as a "student athlete". On top of that, if 'pea-brain' had simply addressed the SAT situation, instead of ignoring it, then the situation probably could have been rectified. But no, "I'm in the NBA next year either way, suckers..." Also, 'pea-brain' could have fouled before Chalmers even gets the ball if he had any basketball IQ (In my opinion he did foul prior to the pass, dude slid ten feet across the court), but he was probably following instructions from John (just let 'em play, sorry ass coach in the last two minutes) Calipari. Fail.

The future of the Chicago Bulls. Fail, again.
But hey "Once a Tiger...", oh wait, that season never happened. Thanks to Derrick Rose...

Really lame post wildbill. Btw, you do remember that our team captain and junior CDR missed 3 free throws in the last 1:15? Then he ran off to the nba a year early where he has done absolutely nothing.

You do know he has said he took the test right? There has been zero evidence to prove he didn't take the year. Zero, zilch, none, zip, Nada.

That season never happened because the NCAA is dumb and so inconsistent with their rules and rulings. If you remember that summer it came out that Arthur might not have been eligible because of someone changing grades in high school or something like that. Did anything happen with that? Nope, I wonder why.

Some of you wonder why Rose hasn't been around the program since he left. People like this and others who have these types of feelings is why. Honestly if I was him I wouldn't want to come around either if dumb people are going to ridicule him.

Without Rose that team doesn't do nearly as well as it did period.

It's not Rose's fault. He didn't do anything wrong. He's not the reason the NCAA has a hardon for Memphis while UNC runs a diploma mill.

He wasn't the only one who missed free throws in that game, each of them would have counted for a point. He cleared the NCAA Clearinghouse, end of story.
