Blake Anderson @CHbanderson
Told you folks when I got here 3 years ago that you were STUCK with me... now let's get on to making it 6 out of 7 !!!
To be fair, he is the first coach in a long time here to be considered for a job and get to give the "I'm staying" tweet.
It's hilarious though because he is well aware there is a portion of our fan base that would help him pack if he got another job.
I tweeted him today after it was all said and done and asked when TD Club was meeting.
I think he understands I'm like 65% troll. He responded and didn't even block me.

You should Tweet Docpoco that...see what he says.
Speaking of Doc, has anyone checked on the poor guy today? Is he over the depression of this news?

RE: See Ya Later Blake
one thing Baylor has is money, they will make Rhule a very rich man, they will also give him anything he wants, overpay his staff, done, any kind of training facilities, you got it, private plane to take you anywhere you want to go, just ask, and he also has the built in excuse if he doesn't win the first season, that its not his fault, its Riles, and the mess he created before he was fired. As far as Anderson, ya, technically he might not have been talking to Baylor directly, but you got to suspect his agents were on the phone with them.

He's done great at Temple, but will be interesting to see how he fits in in the state of Texas. The only "Southern" experience he has is a 4-year stint at Western Carolina.

He must think better than Oregon, to the chagrin of Blake Anderson.
"Oregon: USA Today’s Dan Wolken reports Oregon made a strong play for Matt Rhule on Monday night, but Rhule went with Baylor on Tuesday."

I know we were part of the Confederacy, unfortunately. But I don't really consider us to be part of the cultural south. Especially not in Central Texas.

Rhule was at Western Carolina when head coach Kent Briggs was battling throat cancer, and stood in for Kent at times for various functions. He represented WCU well at the SoCon meetings that I went. Southern experience or not, he's a very personable guy. While he was born in NYC, his time spent in western PA probably prepared him well to do with the Southern way of life. My folks are from the same general area he moved to and despite the yankee heritage that region of Pennslyvania has a lot of similarities to Western NC and the south in general.
Briggs had some really good recruiters those years, he also had Geoff Collins who of course is now UF's defensive coordinator.
Rhule will do just fine recruiting in Texas, IMO.

I'm not at all familiar with him . . . . People here have called him personable . .
If that's the case, and he can relate to kids . . . he'll do just fine recruiting TX.
He's selling Baylor . . . Great facilities. . . and the Big XII. . . He'll no doubt lose a few from time to time to TX, OK, A&M, but he'll get his fair share to be competitive.

We are still not so far removed that while the FCS is mainly a joke these days we know coaches just dont draw plays in the dirt.

Baylor is a current dumpster fire but they are no longer a dumpster fire program as a whole. They can be right back on top where as those schools have sucked for a long time with no indications of ever being a NC contender.

A-State fans will remember him as the guy that kept Blake Anderson in Jonesboro, because he was all but gone.
The good thing is Blake Anderson appears to have finally decided it is in his interest to listen to what their fans have been saying.
If that is the case, both parties are going to be very happy at least for one year.
