Great match up for the Apps. Tickets bought, rooms booked, reserving tailgating spots tomorrow, can't wait to celebrate my birthday with a big win in Montgomery!

Only Stats I could find were after 11 games so I don't really want to do the remaining math lol. You get the point with this.
App Passing: Lamb has 2162 yards for 14 TD's, 8 interceptions
App Receiving: Meadors 698 yards, 2 TD's. Capel 281 yards, 1 TD. Lewis 212 yards, 1 TD. Burns 208 yards 3 TD.
App Rushing: Moore 1,367 yards, 10 TD'S. Cox is important to note because he's our programs all time leading rusher and he miss 4 and a half games this year. His stats through 11 games are 872 yards with 8 TD's. T Lamb 379 yards, 8 TD. D Evans 217 yards, 0 TD.

As you can tell we are predominantly run heavy.

Toledo is big on the lines with a QB that doesn't make many mistakes tied in with an upper tier RB in Hunt. Defensively they use a big D Line to put pressure on the QB and force mistakes.

We could never handle their size. They absolutely bullied on on the line of scrimmage. You can put points up on them, but you have to take advantage of their back 7 on defense and get into space. If you can't put yourselves into positive down and distance situations, Lamb will be forced to pass and will get eaten alive.

For us, they were the type team that was a god awful matchup. I think App matches up better with them than we do, but it will take your best performance of the season to win.

Mobile QB's kill us... good RB's kill us... Good defenses force turnovers which kill us because our D is already on the field so often.

BYU beat us by 2... they forced 2 INT's and had a 300 yard rusher.
Ohio beat us by 5... we dropped a wide open TD to start, their RB went off, they shut down Hunt, we fumbled a punt, and threw an INT.
WMU beat us by 20... had 3 INT's (one first play of the game for 6 points), had a 200 yard rusher.

Our defense is ranked 3rd in the FBS for passes intercepted

I have the same feeling. Will need to play the best we have. But, we are a good team, and haven't played our "best" all season. *edit* We will also need to be coached our best. Isn't that the sad tune for most teams?

Defensive accolades include
3rd nationally in interceptions
7th in red zone defense
15th in 3rd down defense
15th Overall defense
Also freshman Clifton Duck is tied for 10th nationally in individual interceptions.

Your offense likely matches our defense in accolades. It will be fun to see your offense vs. our defense. No doubt.

BYU was the best D we played honestly... They shut down some good teams and lead the nation in forcing turnovers. We scored 53 on them... Weird I know.

Question for you, which Ohio team was better, 2015 or 2016? We squeaked out a win against the Bobcats last year while you lost a close one this year.

I like our offense vs their defense, they haven't stopped anyone all year long, I think we move up and down the field easily, the only thing that worries is our redzone offense hasn't been great, for whatever reason we seem to really bog down inside the 10, if we straighten that out, and don't turn the ball over, there is no reason not put 30 plus on the scoreboard.

I think our disappointment is in the location not the opponent. Toledo will be tough.

That said, there needs to be a rule against sending a team to the same location in back to back seasons.

Honestly, the rule needs to be that the Champion gets to choose their location. I understand bowls wanting to take local teams, but the idea that we came awfully close to the two champs this year getting sent to the last two picks in the pecking order respectively is worrisome. Start it in 2018, let the champ choose what bowl they want, and then continue the normal pecking order the rest of the way.

That way we're not rewarding 6-6 teams for mediocre seasons, but not downright punishing them either.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure New Orleans would go along with such a proposal.

I agree. Also, unfortunately for App, there are no close by bowls. The proposed game in Charleston would have been perfect but alas it wasn't meant to be. For now all of our leagues bowls are 8+ hours away.

8+ hours is the closest team from the MAC to our closest bowl (Montgomery).... Imagine if you were Buffalo or NIU and the closest was 16 hours!! Idaho, northern Alabama, southern Alabama, Florida, or the Bahamas... The midwest has one bowl game and that's in Detroit and contracted to the BIG and ACC. Freaking sucks. At least most of your conference is close to every bowl destination.

You will... But so will we. A defensive game for us keeps us between 25 and 35. The three best defenses on paper kept us at 26, 35, and 53. Our lowest totals were 26 to Ohio, and 31 to NIU, stAte, and CMU.

Even when we don't click, we click enough. Our QB has thrown at least 3 TD's in every game this season.

This year because their defense is better.

6 point loss to 13-0 WMU. 9 point loss to 8-4 Tennessee. 7 point loss to 6-6 CMU and 7-5 EMU. 2 point shootout loss to Texas State in week one (weird). Ohio beat us, 6-6 Miami, and Kansas. All of their losses are close, so they are always in striking distance. Their offense still isn't very good though. They are very comparable to App State... Good D and good run game.

Not disappointed at all. Had a great time last year. It's all about the game. Frankly, more interested in going somewhere that bowl is embraced by the community. In some places, it's just another game as a prelude to a bigger game. Really excited we get Toledo as an opponent, it will be a big time challenge for our D.

Yes it was. Was hoping our director of marching bands had taken notes, but judging from this past season it's obvious he didn't.
