I don't think they can afford to not fire him. UC football cannot have another year like this one. Ticket sales will go way down if he is back next year.

It's a tough situation, that's for sure. Similar to the spot we were in with Pastner.

Buying out a coach isn't normally done with university funds anyway; donors/benefactors/boosters provide those funds in most cases. Any of us at our level struggle when an expensive coach stumbles. The Bearcats will be back on their feet soon. They always recover; the city itself provides enough momentum to recover from most temporary dips.

Interesting notes from tonigt

- your AD not your coach took pictures with seniors for the game
- it was senior night, it was a blowout and Gunner didn't even get 1 snap ( one of the most statistically productive QBs in UC history, who also brought in a conference title)
- there is a rumor that gunner messed around with tubervilles sons girlfriend which is what many believe is the cause for the rift

I thought it was weird that Gunner didn't play a snap.

All good notes, which leads most UC fans to conclude that Tubs is basically a classless piece of garbage.

I find it hard to believe that the talent level on that team is as bad as it looked tonight. A new coach next year will have the Bearcats back in a short time I expect. For what it's worth I feel your pain, the Tiger's have been in that situation more times than I care to remember.
