Did we not possibly lose Schor for our long awaited deep 2016 playoff run with the "M"? YES, but neither you nor I know what his injury actually is. Did we not just clinch and outright CAA title on the road in those helmets?
There was another close game this year with these on as well. New Hampshire or Maine? i can't remember. Not remembering which game it was or was not is certainly not helping your case.

Time to destroy them. There are better alternatives available. This may be true, but voodoo and superstition only exist in the minds of fans, not in the results or outcomes of what happens between the white lines.

I'll take that as a "yes" they should be retired.

love it - looks awesome - but i love even more how the 18-22yo get up for it, that's what matters in my opinion.

I was just noticing during the washington (jmu of the west) vs usc game saturday that i love the all black w purple accents with a matte black helmet it's a sharp look. UW also did a blackout of the stadium, which we of course did for liberty in 2014. hoping it ends better for us than it did for udub saturday and that fateful day in november 2014!

While I'm at it - I also believe that the curse of gameday is a very real thing for schools that don't get it more than once every 10 years. there is so much going on that week shooting promos for espn, moving things around campus, etc that it takes the focus off game time and is next to impossible for a coach to harness that energy for young men that are suddenly becoming part of their favorite show they grew up watching.

As for the white helmets, I won't go as far to say we are cursed. I just don't like the look.

But I will say in the Mickey era we were absolutely cursed when it came to wearing those white pants.

am i crazy, or is it possible these are simply the purple chrome helmets that have now been painted over? i have trouble believing we bought brand new helmets with the exact same Duke Dog logo on it, especially when someone else has already acknowledged the logo itself is chrome. think we just painted over the purple helmets, fellas. not that there's anything wrong with that (if i knew how to do a meme, i'd do a Seinfeld one here)

I think the equipment team puts the decals on all the helmets.

The purple chrome helmets were definitely my favorite. They were soooo shiny!

yeah i just went back and looked at the purple helmets and the decal is definitely bigger anyway. in general, i love all black uniforms. i know a lot of people aren't a fan, but i think they're great.

It appeared those decals were so large that it was difficult to make them lay flat on the round surface of a helmet. I hope these new ones stand out enough to tell what they are from a distance. I froze the video while the helmet was up in the air, of course we all know what it is, but I want folk who are new to JMU football to grasp it. Basically, I'd like the four year old kid to be saying, "Look dad, they have Duke Dog on the helmet today."
