Per Idaho's scout board, certain chapters of the VSF are now putting pressure on the school president about the move to the Big Sky. Gonna get interesting up in the Palouse. Hope you guys stay FBS.

I wish I could say that's a new development, but that's actually an old article. Every major chapter of the Vandal Boosters weighed in against the move before it happened. Staben didn't care. That's why there's such a donor/booster revolt now, and it's only going to get worse after the move actually occurs.

An old article is still at the top of the Vandal Scout board because among the many casualties of the Big Sky announcement were the two guys who created govandals.net and moved it over there to moderate. They quit right after the announcement. It's just a leaderless generic Scout board over there now.

I wish Idaho had a home in the MWC to go to. It sucks that y'all have to go down to FCS after having the year the Vandals are having. Hope Idaho wins out, yes that includes beating the Jags.

Congrats Idaho. Hope you guys get a Bowl. Y'all deserve it.

Louisiana is in a pickle. It's obvious to us now that Hudspeth is a glorified cheerleader with little managerial skills. He has personally run this offense into the ground after running off a good OC who is now the OC at Minnesota. He hired his friends to coach defense and finally let someone else be the DC and now we can play D again. He let the program suffer NCAA sanctions due to the hiring of one of his old buddies. Finally, he constantly berates the fans and throws his players under the bus.

The pickle part is the contract we gave him after he went to a couple of Bowls. He is now one of the highest paid coaches in the G5 and has 3 years left on his contract. Gonna be a while before we can correct this mistake.

South's in an odd situation. Many of them want their coach fired, but since he has 2 program defining wins over MSU and SDSU this year, they'll need as bad as an SBC record as possible to get him out the door.

Number one mistake at the G5 level. Never give a coach a high paid long term contract unless he produced enough pre contract that a drop off would not hurt the program.

In the Cajuns case...Hudspeth got a huge contract for taking the team to the New Orleans Bowl several years in a row with someone else's players, despite the fact that his teams had a chance at a conference title each of the first 3 years and couldn't close the deal.

In a sense, Scott Farmer rewarded him for doing something that now can simply be done with a 6-6 record.

We did something similar with Robb Akey a few years ago. Nice guy, fun to have a beer with, fun to watch, terrible coach. Won a bowl game with someone else's players in 2009 and got a new contract, then took the program into the crapper. The AD tried to fire him after 2011 but the move was killed by the Prez partially for cost reasons and the program got even worse and the rebuild got tougher and took longer.

So the moral of these stories -- wait until your coach wins with his own players before you give him big money. I often wonder how much better our situation might be if Petrino came in a year sooner and we got back into decent results on the field a year or two quicker. We might be in a lot better shape from an FBS standpoint right now.

ZERO CAJUN posts!!??

I was at the game.

I don't post during the game.

I also stay off message boards for a couple of days following losses.

Helps me avoid foot-in-mouth syndrome.

Still doesn't excuse the fact that we have zero offensive identity.

As a matter of morality, it's best to see the team stick it to the man I do believe.

05-nono back when Hudspeth was being successful, Cajun fans let us know that it was NOT Farmer who got MH those big bucks, that move was pulled off by someone else in spite of Farmer.
