Very noticeable gap between number one and two. Interesting that Neal Brown is the only coach in the top six with a winning record this year.

The bottom salary knocked off the top salary earlier this season. Kudos to them.

If you look at total potential compensation it's not as big a gap but then who wouldn't rather have the guaranteed per year

Yeah. I'd rather have a high paid staff, and a decent paid head coach than the other way around.

Oh I agree that TROY definitely did the right thing with how they utilized the money for the entire staff. Best staff top to bottom TROY has ever had.

I wonder how much longer the hometown discount will continue with Satterfield. At some point we need to start throwing some more cash his way, and the staff while we are at it. He is producing now year in year out after the rocky start, we win the games we are supposed to win talent wise and that usually means you are well coached.

525,000, with raises every year, up to, I believe around 700,000 in 3 or 4 years, in NC, that's nothing to sneeze at, but your right, if we want to keep him more than a couple years, then we must find some more cash for both him and his staff.

If I remember correctly, Withers graduates to 750K. I'll have to check on that.

Most coaches start around 500K and with raises and incentives usually end up around 700K+/-

We are definitely over paying, but we couldn't afford not to. The PR hit of losing HUD to Tulane would have been too damaging within the state.

Not just for Satt but for the future. We have to find a way to have very competitive salaries for coaching staff. It is critical.

So Blakeney retired and still gets paid? Must have been a forced retirement. You had to get rid of him before he destroyed everything he built, but you didn't want to tarnish his legacy by firing him. Tell him to announce his retirement and he still gets paid out or he gets fired.

That's exactly what happened.

Blakeney's contract expired in 2015.
