Only better scenario for ODU is if WKU wins the game but it was 3+ OT's instead. If (and that's a big if) ODU can beat WKU, the Monarchs have the inside track to be C-USA East Champions. The odds are long, but that would be an amazing step for our program at this stage in our transition.

We have a shot. That's all we can ask for.

Emotional win and ODU bye. Not saying we'll win next week, but this is the best case scenerio.

With the way the rest of our opponents have been playing, we should finish anyway from 10-2 to 8-4, not including what happens in our bowl game. Hopefully everyone isnt just hoping for 6 wins as we appear to be much better than that.

I watched most of the game yesterday. The key for ODU is our D-line vs. their O-line. Their line is formidable and completely wore out MT. By the end of the game, MT was giving up about 8 yards a carry.

Wales and Taylor are studs that are going to make big plays. We can't let WK get big plays on special teams or they are going to win running away. If we compete upfront and make them earn it, we have a chance. I think ODU is more balanced than MT.

They're going to score a ton of points. The key is keeping pace and not making mistakes on offense.

Yep. Score touchdowns instead of field goals. No turnovers. We are deep on the D line.

If you look at our season terms of who we can REALISTICALLY beat, this game has not to much riding on it. Now UTEP and the F-U's, have a lot riding on them. We win those 3 games and we're bowling, despite what happens with the other three. Marshall would also be a nice get.

I think what he meant by "This much riding on it" is for making the conf championship game and winning the title. If going bowling is our end goal this season then FIU, FAU and UTEP are the ones that comes to mind. Anyways taking off our blue tinted glasses here is what i think we will need to win this game.

1. Our OL has to do better job than they did so far.
2. Defense needs to dial up and stop big plays esp CB's and safeties.
3. DE's needs to hurry the **** outta of that QB to make him throw some really bad throws or sack him and get stops.
4. Our WR's has to go up and grab the pigskin like mountain goat hooves.
5. No turning the ball over, need TD's not FG's and Brad Davis need to continue his form and kick the FG's when mattered.

This is a winnable game but we have to fire on all cyclinders.

True. At this point, I am expecting a bowl game. A win at WKU can put us in the driver's seat for the East Division title.

While I'm a huge ODU fan this is probably why I like basketball more than football. To each their own. Go Blue!

Is getting an invite to the CBI, CIT or Vegas 16 any better? In the case of the CBI you don't even need a .500 record and can be invited over teams win better records.

No it isn't, and I don't like those tourneys either other than the fact that we get extra practice (just like a bowl game). Do you like the bowl games for .500 teams?
