That would be fine considered that Rynearson has a reduced capacity because of the tarp covering much of the visitor's side.

Wow. More than half of that side is covered with tarp. Don't get me wrong, I love having a game virtually in our backyard that's easy to attend, but this is not the type of Division I FBS atmosphere I want to experience. How do they get away with that without getting sent down to FCS?

Do you honestly think that FBS status is all about attendance and stadiums? Let's be real. It's about the money.
Emu should have an above-average crowd, but we are still a work in progress. There's been a slight uptick in media coverage and the 4 wins are getting a little interest. But this is still Michigan and Big Ten territory. The Mac is barely a blip on the radar.

RE: How many UT fans coming to EMU Saturday?
MAC fans probably should not spend so much time talking about attendance or the the absence there of. Of course EMU has a history of poor attendance compared to much of the MAC, but compare the attendance of the top MAC teams with the attendance of the top G5 teams---the AAC or MWC, any lower P5 teams and then... shudder.... the top drawing P5 teams and what you will find is that the same arguments that many MAC fans use against EMU could in fact be made against the entire MAC.
When Toledo played at BYU last Friday there were 63,000 fans on hand to cheer on a 1-3 BYU team. Does anybody on the face of the planet think when BYU plays in the Glass Bowl in a future return game there will half that number in attendance? (although BYU will probably bring more fans to the Glass Bowl than any visiting team since Marshall in the 2001 MACC game).....and yet Toledo is one of "better drawing" teams that is always at or near the top in MAC attendance.
Many MAC teams put a better product on the field than the attendance numbers would suggest and that is the strength of the MAC.

First of all the grey field was voted 2nd best in an ESPN poll, if you've never seen a live bald eagle fly across the field during the national anthem and feel your heart flutter than you don't have a heartbeat, thirdly there is actual craft beer on sale inside the stadium. The tarp is there for safety reasons as there needs to be substantial concrete repair that currently makes it not safe for seating. If its not for you oh well stay at home.

Wow, I didn't know the concrete repairs were for the visitor's side. That structure is only 25 years old.

If the Rocket fans don't come, the the whole stadium would be EMPTY.

Do they sell the beer out of actual concession stands or out of a carnival wagon, like last time was there? I see bald eagles fly over the Maumee river all of the time. I imagine the EMU eagle is very sad. Shouldn't a "Factory" produce something?

It's fun beating EMU and doing it with a rockin UT section!
Saturday will actually be formidable college football environment tho. I kind of hope EMU scores first and we get a taste of EMU pumped... then we step on the gas and win by 30+

Although I hope that happens without EMU scoring first.

Actually, come to think of it, EMU scoring first and then us stepping on the gas and winning by 30+ is EXACTLY what happened in our game against them last year.

Dunno, I think EMU suddenly stopped being competitive when they changed their nickname from Hurons to Eagles. It seems to have caused a identity crisis of sorts.
FWIW I don't condone the pejorative use of term "Huron" However could of EMU somehow reached out in some way to honor the Native American tribal nation?
EMU just seems cursed.

I would suggest that you expect some ribbing and blowback when you post on an opponent''s board. Just having fun, pocket protector...

Why is the stadium called The Factory? Is there some historic meaning to that?

maybe, if they don't sing the star spangled banner before their games, then, they can be the hurons. being that the war of 1812's greatest legacy was the death and displacement of the great lakes indian nations and tribes, especially around huron and wyandotte lands in what would become ohio and the eastern half of michigan.

When the subject of changing the name started:
The Huron Tribe begged EMU to keep the name!!!!!!
They said it was their biggest namesake they had.
