Hopefully if we get a TD here we see another QB for the 4th quarter. Would be nice to see just how good/bad our backup is.

Not really hate - Would just like to see one of the backups play for more than 1 series that is to just end the game.

We seem to have found our rhythm, a few more TDs in the 4th and I will feel better moving into conference play. 2-2 OOC isn't bad especially since our only losses are to ranked teams.

^This. From what we have seen of Printz and White they really need some PT.

Just saw a player's parent tweet to Keff that LG Williams and Copa are out for year. Concussions.

On the other hand Tyler Jones broke the school record for passing yards in a game

RE: UIW at TEXAS ST
The receivers this year aren't afraid to fight for the ball, adjust or come back. Something we've been missing.

48-17 final. I was about to take that leap off the ledge after the first quarter but after that it was all Bobcats. Jones found his rhythm and went off setting a school record with 475 yards and 5 TDs.

Started slow at Ohio, and again in tonight's win . . . . a trend I could live without.

Glad for the W . . . 2-2 OOC is better than I expected going into the season. Panthers up next in Atlanta.

Withers not letting up after this win, Ishmael Johnson, TXST beat writer, quotes him after the game.

Withers: "I didn't think we played very well tonight. I would say that's a C grade at best."
Withers: "Bad football teams play like we did tonight."
Withers on what happened in the 1Q: "I don't know."

I'm glad this is how he came out in post game. We can play better and our coach knows it.

I like it . . . Young team, largely inexperienced, don't even give 'em the opportunity to get "the big head." And he's also Right. Saw a lot that this team still needs to work on to get better.

What a difference a Coach makes . . . .

RE: UIW at TEXAS ST
We look like we're one of the worst rushing teams in the country, yet TJ broke the school record for passing yards in a game. (Our program is over 100 years old) Strange feeling about this one. Minus two long scoring runs (one in garbage time, the other on the first drive), we outscored them 48-3 with twice the yardage.

Ohio is looking like a decent team after all.

I agree that we need to shift to a pass first offense. This wasn't always "pretty", but it was definitely decisive. If we hadn't lost the last two the way we did, I think we might feel more comfortable with this.
