You know I think a lot of these comments are unfair. Yes it is taking longer to adjust to the offense this season but we did see improvement this week on offense especially with the penalties. It was the young defensive secondary that really let us down but we knew that could be the case before the season even started. Penalties and mistakes have kept our scoring down this year but I guess a lot of GS fans have forgotten Navy, WVU and GA St from the last two seasons. I say that because in those three games our running game was stuffed and we couldn't do squat to stay in the game because of it. I would suggest everyone take a deep breath and step away from the cliff because the season is just getting started and how we react after losing a game like this will tell us a lot about how the rest of the season will go.

How is it unfair? We return principle members of last year team and we just don't look the same. Yesterday's game was no surprise to me because of how off we looked in the first 3 weeks. I don't look at this game in the same light as the 3 you mentioned.

I'm with you EagleWay. This loss is not like those other losses at all. For all intents and purposes, WMU is our football equal, and I think with Fritz and company at the helm we probably win that game on Saturday. What CTS and crew have done so far gives me zero confidence going forward in any games where I once thought we would get into a dog fight. I hope they prove me wrong.

WMU game was like the others. We got down early and never fought our way back in those other games. We had fight in the WMU game and that was sorely missing from the other three games I mentioned which was my point. And what are you trying to say when you say WMU is our equal? Is Navy and GA St not our equal? I call BS on your line of thought!

Out of curiosity, what were the positives in the sinking of the Titanic?

The band kept playing? At least in the movie.

We don't want to go there. Our band played for too long after a first down the other week and inadvertently caused our offense to false start.

Come on man, we can't drop so low we start blaming the band.

No more ships named Titanic have sunk sense. Funny how expectations are so high for a team that has stepped away from what it knows so well. Even baby steps are likely to bring some unpredictable outcomes but the season is too early to make any rash predictions. Hopefully the trend continues in eliminating soo many penalties and dropped passes.

Yeller, the fact is we've observed the offensive awkwardness since Game# 1 and it hasn't improved by any significant amount. It took 4 games before there was any improvement on the penalties. It is beyond 'feeling' something is wrong with the offense. It is observable and quantitative. The staff is running a rudimentary offense that develops slowly after the snap of the ball. The only thing that is keeping us somewhat competitive is the speed of the skills people. I don't know what the hell is the offensive line's problems but they look confused most of the time. It appears to me that the staff is squandering the offensive talent we have and most likely think we are doing fine with a 3-1 record.

The awkwardness is to be expected to some degree. Good coaching and talent wins games. We have good coaches and talent. Someone mentioned on the GS board how Valdosta High is now winning as result of Galespy leaving. How bout that ars whippin they took Friday. Gallespy rebuilt that program twice what it was when he arrived. Coach McGee was successful as a highschool coach. Ask Balling Green what they think of his coaching. Dean is a proven national championship winner. All this to say the panic is way too early.

I'm here. Honestly four turnovers to none is not the norm. We gave up 21 points off turnovers. One pick 6 two fumbles on very short fields. Neither is giving up a 100 yard kickoff return. The two int's are just part of our horrible passing game, for the love of all things holy our QB's are never going to get you don't have to throw the ball if it is not there and you can sail it out of bounds. Our passing scheme should be easy tosses or sneaking guys wide open with play action not trying to fit it into tight windows. I have no idea why we had a third string guy trying to pass anyways. The fumbles are just bad decisions and not securing the ball. We still have the talent we just need our coaches to stop putting us in bad positions. I have no idea if the QB's have the right to check out of bad plays.

I'm worried too but it's too early in the season to write off the team or coaches. Most thought Monkin was a great coach but many forget that he was 9 games into his first season before the team seemed to click and start looking like world beaters. At one point that season we were 4-4 and had just lost to Samford yet we ended the season 10-5. I remember many saying Monkin was the wrong guy for the job and how we had made a bad hire and so on. Sound familiar?

In the end I'm True Blue and support the team. I want CTS and his staff to succeed and lead the players to football glory. If it doesn't happen I will be disappointed and expect things to improve quickly.

To me the three biggest things we need to do to be successful this season are:
1. Keep the penalties low (looks as thought we have turned the corner on this)
2. Improve our run blocking on the O-line (We have some new faces up there so this is on the coaches as much as it is on the kids)
3. Limit big pass plays (Like the O-line our secondary is filled with new kids so let's get um coached up)

I'm not panicking yet but I am pretty concerned.

GPC, I'm not ready to throw the offensive coaches under the bus...yet. My concern is they received a very productive offense that has been under-performing this year with respect to a simplified offense compared to last year's scheme. I just want to hear from the co-offensive coordinators of their assessment of the offense so far.
