A $250/semester student athletics fee would give y'all a ~ $20 million athletic budget. Why don't y'all have football?

Hopefully UTA will announce plans for a football program by June.

dont hold your breath. uta is adding women's golf and announced that with a 2 year lead time. I would imagine that another women's sport, probably soccer, will have to also be added before football.

Beach volleyball could be added pretty easily - piggy back off of the existing indoor team. A number of schools have done that. A passable court isn't too expensive to construct either.

our indoor team is not very good. maybe they would do better outdoors. would for sure be more fun to watch

Student fee is $8.50 per credit hour.

It's hard to say how many are taking what, but if it averages out to nine credit hours per student, it equates to $3,038,121 in the fall semester, or roughly $6.5 million over the academic year. If the average is 12 credit hours, 4,050,828 for the fall semester, or roughly $8.5 million per academic year.

In 2003/04, students voted to increase the athletics fee $2 per hour to fund women's golf, women's soccer and football. I don't know the legalities, but using the nine credit hours average, that fee increase would $705,132 per semester, or roughly $1.5 million per year. The 12 credit hour average would bring in an additional $953,136 per semester, or roughly $2 and a quarter million per year.

Sort of.

It is $214 per semester with > 3 credit hours, and $40 facility fee (FBS expansion)

So $254 per semester, but I believe that the facility fee is not permanent.

TROY enrollment is ~14000. Our enrollment has dropped quite a bit in the last several years. Not sure why.

looks like it would be a-m, ut-austin, houston, and then uta. dont know what the numbers are for tech but tech, untexas and txst would all be close for the next spot. I guess we would be the second largest school in the B12.

I think the FBS fee was for the stadium expansion and supposed to be temporary but now with the BOR limiting our budget I dont think it is ever going away.

Our 2016 enrollment data is not in yet, but our enrollment numbers have sort of plateaued recently. We went from ~15k to ~20k in just a few short years. We were predicted to be ~30k by 2020 with our crazy growth rate that we were experiencing. However, in the last 4 years or so, we've stuck around 20.5k and haven't increased at all.

GS is a straight up traditional campus so if we get close to 30K I'll be happy. We grow that big we will have no problem with getting 30K+ in attendance with students and alum base growth.

We are about 15-20 years away from that, but it is coming.

Planned undergraduate growth & projections has us around the 25,000 number by 2025. That is smart growth that will not stress the campus, and with the regional expansion and state demographics we are in a great spot, both figuratively and literally.

While many other state colleges have seen retraction in their enrollment numbers, we have solid growth which is significant given how we've raised enrollment standards over the last decade.

We're also on the downward slope of a baby boom too. I've seen many articles over the past couple years talking about lower enrollment numbers... well, yeah, there's less people!

This is true, which is why it will be 2025 until we are around 25K, which is 4500 above current enrollment.

Sustaining our enrollment and growing it while the population demographics work against you, while simultaneously raising the enrollment standards can be a tough task to accomplish but we are going against the grain in good fashion.

Fortunately, the Savannah region is poised for a lot of growth.
