App State and Arkansas State
Georgia Southern and Troy
ULL and South Alabama
Georgia State and ULM
Coastal Carolina and Texas State
UALR and UTA

Flame away.

I put us with Troy because we're a football-first, baseball-second school which makes us more similar than we are with App and Ark State.

Is this sports-oriented or university-oriented because if it's about the overall universities, it would be:
App and GS
Ga State and UTA
Coastal and USA
Ark State and ULL
Troy and TXST
UALR and ULM

Based on student body size, type of school, etc

Why us and ULM? I would say more like Texas State.

I'm struggling to think of any similarities you guys have with Texas State, besides the "State name" State.

Student size. Trying to get over the hump in football performance. Has to deal with being in the shadow of a major state school just down the road.

I don't know enough about each school but at this point I would have to guess TXST and ULL have a lot in common.

Southern.

The hillbilly/redneck/whitetrash/inbred trash talk goes both ways and always cracks me up. Though Southern fans would have you believe that they are the classy, tuxedo t-shirt wearin, type of redneck.

I would say for South Alabama and Louisiana Lafayette it has to be each other.

Similar enrollment
Similar landscape and climate (coastal/swampy, rainy, hot)
National research institutions
Semi-similar cuisine
Mardi Gras
Loves baseball
Loves softball
Loves football
Has a good basketball history
Have become rivals in baseball, basketball, softball, and trending that way in football

There are probably more items I could add to this list, but it has to be Louisiana Lafayette for USA.

In 2nd place for GS I would say Troy

For shared history...ULL. We also share some characteristics with Georgia Southern. At one point we were probably most similar to ULM but we've been trying to mash the gas pedal hard for most of a decade and they haven't.

You couldn't be more accurate. GS is definitely the Darius Rucker version of Wagon Wheel.

Even though Wagon Wheel has been an automatic skip at pretty much every bar in Boone since at least 2013 I still call Blasphemy.

How do I award you rep points. I would rather be the Bob Dylan of that song (who co-wrote it) but we are probably more the watered down pop version of the song, sadly as so astutely noted by my atl night school friend. 03-banghead
