The bye will make or break your team. Either they use the time to improve and re-focus, or they wallow and it ruins the whole season before it even begins.

Five FCS games this week. Four last week. Seems typical.

Hey, guys, if anyone really thinks EMU will beat Mizzou Vegas will give you 17 1/2 : 1 odds.

Get rich quick scheme, I'd think. 03-lmfao

Apparently Ohio started out a 9 point favorite at Kansas...

They're currently sitting at 3 point underdogs now.

12 point swing...

these are pretty good guesses

not sure Ohio wins. they are missing their qb and rb. rooting for ball st but don't see the rationale for the upset. indiana has improved the past few years and ball st has regressed. they were solid in the opener but that was one game against a sun belt, not big 10, team. toledo should roll but maine has one of the best defenses in FCS so they might be able to keep the score down a bit. who knows which NIU team will show up. the talent is there to compete with s fla but they were not sharp last week. interested to see if emu can turn the corner and be competitive w missouri. rumor is emu has a real defense (we know missouri has one). could be an interesting low scoring game if emu can avoid bad turnovers and mistakes.

If I was a betting man, which I am, I'd seriously consider putting money down on OU. When a spread shifts that much, it is usually best to bet against the shift.

If Ohio cannot beat Kansas, then they're going to be in for a rough season.

RE: Week 2 Pick'em
CMU @ #22 Ok. St. The Cowboys remember how close the game was last year and since this game is in Stillwater and football down there is a religion and game day is like a national holiday to them, I don't think they will take CMU very lightly and will runaway in this one rather easily.

Ohio @ Kansas I can see Ohio doing themselves one better or one worse, depending on how you look at it, by doing something that allows this game to go to five overtimes. I expect this to be the closest game of the weekend score wise.

NoDak @ BGSU You can not lose to Stony Brook and be given a chance to win this game. The only reason I don't think it will be a blowout is because of how the Falcons played against Ohio State.

EIU @ Miami Miami had mixed reviews after their loss to Iowa, but they should be able to take care of business and the ball against EIU.

Akron @ #10 Wisconsin I'm sorry Zips fans, but if you are going to Madison for this game, the ride home is most likely going to be a long one.

Ball St. @ Indiana Ball State almost always plays the Hoosiers tough. I don't expect anything less this season.

NC A&T @ Kent St. On paper this looks as if it should be an easy win for the Golden Flashes. But, the game isn't on paper and the Golden Flashes aren't always consistent on the gridiron.

NCCU @ WMU While many are considering this game a blowout, I'm kind of cautious heading into this game. Could this be a trap game considering the Broncos just knocked of the Northwestern Wildcats last Saturday and face the Fighting Illini of Illinois next Saturday? I don't think coach Fleck has allowed them to get overconfident after their win and I think he has them focused on this Saturday and not next Saturday. So, even though I believe the Broncos will win by more than 2 scores, I am extremely cautious about this game.

Maine @ Toledo Hello Maine! Good bye Maine! Have a safe trip home. Thank you for the win, here's your money.

NIU @ USF The Bulls have been an up and down team over the years. NIU has been the class of the MAC West for the better part of the last 10 years, even when they were hampered with injuries and coaching changes and until someone knocks them off, they will still be the class of the MAC West. Should be a good one down in Florida.

EMU @ Mizzou The one MAC school I have not been able to root for in out of conference play for over 12 or 13 years because of the dirty antics of their players back in that time frame may be turning a corner. EMU has some of the most loyal and knowledgeable fans in the country. I have no problems with their fans, just their team. So, I have decided for the time being to stop hating on them so much. But, even though I will cheer for a Hurons upset victory over the Tigers, I don't think it's going to be pretty and I don't think the ride back from Columbia is going to be a happy one either.

Oklahoma St over Central Michigan big
Kansas over Ohio close
Bowling Green St over North Dakota big
Miami over Eastern Illinois big
Wisconsin over Akron big
Indiana over Ball St close
Kent St over North Carolina A&T close
Western Michigan over North Carolina Central big
Toledo over Maine big
Northern Illinois over South Florida close
Mizzou over Eastern Michigan

I didn't choose any "upsets."
Kansas vs Ohio and NIU vs USF are the games to watch.
I'm a Bronco thru and thru and will be at Waldo, but Id almost stay and watch the NIU/Ohio games.

RE: Week 2 Pick'em
Underline = Beating the Spread; Bold = Beating the Team

Ohio @ Kansas -3
*Ohio 'surprises' with the win

Ball State @ Indiana -17
*Ball State keeps it close for a while, but Indiana pulls away by 2 TDs

EMU @ Missouri -25
*EMU seems to keep it a little close for 1.5Q, but Missouri pulls away in a stomp by 28.

CMU @ Oklahoma St -21
*OKSt looks very tough, but this could be CMU's year. CMU hangs, but loses by 17 in the end.

Akron @ Wisconsin -24
*Akron looked bad 1st half last week; They'll be more that 2nd half team against Wisconsin being high off LSU win. Wisconsin pulls away by 3 TDs after waking up.

NIU @ South Florida -15
*NIU is behind the whole game, makes it close near the end, but South Florida pulls way and wins by 14.

Bowling Green beats North Dakota by 20
Miami-OH beats Eastern Illinois by 17
Kent St beats NC-AT&T by 24
Toledo beats Maine by 21

RE: Week 2 Pick'em
CMU 27 @ #22 Ok. St. 38 I see us once again making the cowboys work for it, but a win on the road may be too much to ask.

Ohio 28 @ Kansas 24. Before the season, I thought the Bobcats had this one almost in the bag. After last week, I'm less certain but...

North Dakota 21 @ BGSU 34. BUGS should win this one, but after last week, not sure how they'll come out. ND is no FCS slouch.

EIU 17 @ Miami 31. Miami showed enough against Iowa to make me think this one will be a win.

Akron 16 @ #10 Wisconsin 34. This one could get out of hand. Hopefully not too far.

Ball St. 26 @ Indiana 38. Ball State might pull this off, but IU certainly won't overlook the Cardinals.

NC A&T 14 @ Kent St. 31. Not a bad performance at PSU last week. I have a suspicion the Kent D will score again.

NCCU 17 @ WMU 48. WMU should roll.

Maine 17 @ Toledo 41. May still be a game at halftime, but Toledo will finish strong.

NIU 28 @ USF 37. Could be an entertaining game.

EMU 20 @ Mizzou 41. EMU took care of business in week one, and Mizzou is a bit down. I expect the Eagles to make a game of it, but I can't see them pulling this one off.
