They are usually fun and harmless.

There is a little more venom in here than you normally see in a FloridaJag thread.

Yes, you were comparing. You were comparing your calling for Georgia Southern's membership to you calling for UWF's membership. That's exactly what you were doing, but there is no comparison.

I'll stop wasting my time on this now since I know you can't possibly be serious.

07-coffee3

He is 100% serious

100% FOS. He hasn't been here in a while now shows up with this BS. He's nothing but an attention seeker and a boring one at that.

No Joe, there you go with the name calling.

I have been busy with work, family, friends and community good works. I can't always enter the fray. Plus we had to focus on Hermine, the power has been out for a few days. Now yall know football season is my time of the year.

What is it that upset you Joe?

Where did I call you a name, FJ? I accused you of being an attention seeker. Someone else suggested you were a psycho. People on this site are getting tired of belonging to conference that is a stepping stone for wannabes.

So FJ's apparent latest fantasy is about adding another SBC team located in essentially the other side of town? SMDH.

I wouldn't call this crap. This is more like if normal posters were a cat and FJ's statements were some mouse toy that we were batting around for fun.

The crap is what happens when GS fans get on GaSt about attendence... or when App fans overstate the value of losing an offensive lineman midgame... or when someone calls UL Lafayette a funny name... or when someone dares to question the talent evaluation skills of SeminoleIndian... or when some Texas State posters read literally anything about Georgia Southern (still trying to figure that one out).

I think I covered most of the triggers around here.

This is not a new "fantasy". Okay check this out.

UWF vs USA distance 50 miles
UWF vs Troy distance 140 miles
UWF vs Ga State distance 318 miles
UWF vs Ga Southern distance 411 miles
UWF vs Coastal Carolina distance 663 miles
UWF vs Appalachian State distance 618 miles

The addition of UWF does not tax travel budgets for non football sports. Think travel for soccer teams, volleyball and tennis.

UWF vs USA would be a big as USA vs UAB or USA vs USM.

UCLA and USC are close. 14 miles Stanford and Cal are close. 41 miles

Miss State and Alabama Tuscaloosa are 83 miles

With UWF in the conference it will highlight the conference from Biloxi to Destin. That is roughly 1.5 million people.

Plus I believe ULL and ULM would not mind playing near the beach at least once every two to three years years.

So the fantasy wish list at the moment is Kennesaw State, UT Arlington Football and West Florida.

East

Appalachian State
Coastal Carolina
Georgia State
Georgia Southern
Kennesaw State
Troy
West Florida

West

Arkansas State
La Lafayette
La Monroe
South Alabama
Texas Arlington
Texas State
????????? = Missouri State

That is the fantasy.

I will keep you updated on UWF.

By the way KSU loss to ETSU 17 to 20 this past weekend.

RE: UWF to the SBC
Complete non-starter.

1) USA would have to be no longer in the Sun Belt for this to even be possible. USA would block and would be foolish not to.
2) Troy would be a definate 'no vote' too.
3) How do you think UALR and UTA would feel about adding a team with non-existent D1 basketball?
4) If ULL and stAte say "no Southland teams", how do you think they'd feel about adding a D2 moveup?

UWF would need the following to even be at the Kennesaw State level of 'never going to happen'

1) A plan for a football stadium along with funding. UWF is small and has a small endowment. There isn't any off campus facility for them to use either.
2) Some credibility in D1 basketball. And no, they're not moving from DII to the Sun Belt Conference.
3) A funding plan for FBS athletics that accounts for the significant expense of competing in FBS football, Sun Belt olympic sports including Title IX compliance
4) A place to play D1 basketball. No, the Pensacola Civic Center isn't going to cut it.
5) A lot more than 2,000 on campus residential students and a main campus undergrad enrollment of less than 9500.

UWF probably has 'okay' baseball (they won the D2 championship in 2011), but they don't have a credible D1 baseball facility either. In the sport they are probably the best at.

---

UWF would need to figure out a way to raise 80-100 million dollars plus (for very basic facilities) in order to even have 'crummy for the Belt' facilities. Then, they'll need to figure out where 10 million or more in excess athletic department budgets are going to come from. Per year. Then they'll need to get their basketball into another D1 conference and succeed there.

And even then....they're never getting in the Belt because USA and Troy will block them and plenty of the league will help them block them.

Neither FGCU or WSU will have or restart football in the next 10-15 years. WSUs last year of football was 1986. they both have fans that would love to have football. Neither have the money to dedicate to it. A start up as theirs would require 100-150 million dollars, then at least 14-25 million per year for recruiting, coaches salaries and other needs.

UWF sounds like a nice add but UWG or UNA may be better - what do you think FJ?
