Serious question for G5 fans
With houston coming in at 15 and OU at 3, even if houston beats OU do you feel like OU still would be ranked as a better team, or houston shoots past them?

RE: Serious question for G5 fans
The ranking that matters is the CFP ranking.

I believe the CFP will do everything it can to ensure UH is no higher than #5.

We need an undefeated UH to face a ranked east team in the championship game.

RE: Serious question for G5 fans
It depends on the competitiveness of the game. If Houston were to blow out Oklahoma, the I would say Houston would be ranked around #10 and Oklahoma #11. If it is a very tight game and Houston ekes it out I could see more of a Oklahoma #10 and Houston #11. Espn will try to minimize Houston's credit and say Oklahoma overlooked them.

RE: Serious question for G5 fans
UH would go up a couple spots but OU would fall into the mid teens or worse

RE: Serious question for G5 fans
The more relevant question should be "How far out of the top 25 does Houston fall after Oklahoma destroys them?"

didnt happen when UCF beat Louisville....... and Louisville at the time was not in a P5. i believe that farce went on for a few weeks after until it was finally corrected.

All a G5 has to do to make the playoffs is schedule tough P5s OOC and win those games. However, if a P5 loses to a G5, even if the P5 wins the rest of their games, it was a bad team.

The dream scenario for Houston is:

Go undefeated...

Oklahoma wins B12...
Louisville wins ACC...
Memphis is ranked heading into Nov 25 matchup...
Opponent in AAC title game is ranked...

If all those cards fall into place, they will have a hard time keeping UH out of the playoff.

In that scenario, I agree. Unfortunately week #1 will derail that train.

Win out and have the acc and pac 10 champs crash and burn losing badly and houston could do it. Thats a tall order.

Is gonna be sec and big 10 no matter what. There are only 2 slots open.

RE: Serious question for G5 fans
If Power 5 Oklahoma loses to G5 Houston, G5 Houston should still drop in the polls even its a real G5 whipping over a Power 5 team because G5 Houston is G5 with G5 fans that like to start a thread and ask other G5 fans what they think about G5 Houston beating Power 5 Oklahoma. In fact if G5 Houston wins maybe they should just start an AP G5 poll and G5 Houston can be number 1 in that G5 poll. 03-banghead
