Maddie to WR
I guess Graham solidified himself as the definite #2, prompting Maddie and Carey to mutually agree the Maddie's move to WR.

Not a bad idea. I didn't see enough of a passing threat from him to give him a realistic shot as a productive QB. He seemed to have quick feet and ok speed. I don't think he has the bulk to take the hits as an every down player but think he might be able to contribute a few nice plays each game.

An added bonus would be the threat of a pass on any jet sweep. Keeps the defensive backs honest.

Maddie's 6 feet, 200 pounds. The only WRs bigger than him on the roster are Kenny G and Glasper. Not sure how much he'll play, but it won't be because he's too small.

It'll be interesting to see how many designed runs Hare has called for him this year. While he was a really productive runner as a sophomore, he wasn't at all last year and now he's coming off an Achilles tear. Maddie may be a wildcat option.

He looks pretty thin to me. I learned a long time ago the measurements you see listed on a roster are not terribly accurate, for a variety of reasons.

Maddie is strong as hell. He's not a skinny kid.

This is him benching 315 for 7 reps. (There is also a vid of him doing 225 @ 26 reps)

Also a pretty impressive athlete

Obviously These aren't football skills, but it's doesn't hurt to get an athlete like this On the field some how and see what he can do.

The kids gotta be in the ball park of 210 215. He's got some bulk to him. More of lynchs build. He's prob more well suited for rb but the position is so deep.

RE: Maddie to WR
I would hope Maddie sees a little more of the field in his last year. After his transfer from WMU, between injuries, sitting out, and limited play, it has been a bit of a rough ride. He missed a year due to transfer rules and a year long injury, 2 full years of play.

it's nice to know that Maddie could come in at QB with a good grasp of the offense. Try to maximize your talent and not let it go to waste on the bench.

We've seen this show before with Grady and Matt Williams. Both had minimal impact at WR.

I don't think he is in any stretch of imagination a difference maker, but maybe he fits a niche and makes a play when we need it. I think the kid is a pretty good athlete and I think its a good idea to try to utilize him. Just make the paly when called upon.

Matt Williams was a decent receiver, but got injured and then transferred out. I remember him making a few clutch catches.

We have also seen what can happen when the Huskies run out of depth at the QB position. Toledo had to convert a receiver to QB in 2014, and he helped them win a bowl game.

it's nice to have the luxury of some cross training of positions.
