We are under 30 days away, so I figured we could get excited and start talking about our first opponent. Week 1 is on the road against Wyoming of the MWC, they are coming off of a 2-10 season last year. Current line has NIU -10. GO HUSKIES!!

I've Got:
NIU - 35
Wyoming - 14

If Drew is as healthy as they say he is NIU should walk over this opponent. I don't care how improved they may be from last season, this is a bad football team we are playing. It may take a quarter to get going, but I expect NIU to take it to them starting in the 2nd quarter and especially in the second half. Though if they are adjusted to the altitude well enough, hopefully it's a laugher from the start. Let's go!

Interesting factoid: We offered Hill out of high school, but I think we were looking at him for linebacker. Anywho, if our run defense is anywhere near as bad as the end of last season he will have a field day.

Wyoming may be significantly improved in Bohl's third season. He brought with him completely new Offensive style, had to recruit to it.

That said, I'd be surprised if Huskies didn't win. But may not be like the Fighting EMUs did in Laramie a year ago.

O sputters at first and then rolls. D struggles (maybe first possession TD as we have been prone t give up in the past) but then settles down. In the second half it is all Huskies!

I know the answer is TV, but why is Wyoming kicking this game off at 8:30 Wyoming time. Its a disservice to their home fans. So you get TV and halftime will be at close to 10pm and the game will be over after midnight. What difference is TV coverage when the time is not conducive to watching.

THIS, yet Hill doesn't have much in the form of an OLine. This game is being played at 7200' Elevation, yes that will make a HUGE difference.

Don't downplay Wyo, they will play a spread (which your team is accustomed to seeing) yet they will have the following:

A good RB

A good QB

Good Receiver's

Well coached team that won't give up

Advantage of an extra pint of blood to process oxygen...Funny, not really.

First game on the road, anything can happen.

1st games are always a little sloppy. It will be close in the first half. Than NIU brings the Dogs out in the 2nd half. NIU 34 Wyoming 14

How can you make a prediction before the first fall practice? there is 4 weeks to see how things unfold. The only one we know that is out is Beebe.
