I predict OU, Texas, Oklahoma State and Kansas all leave the Big-12.

I predict the PAC-12 picks up some of the leftover scraps. Maybe one or two schools.

I predict any AAC or MWC member who thinks they are about to hit the jackpot, instead gets stuck in a conference with the same losers they have been playing for the last 20-30 years.

OU is not going to stay in the Big-12.

Board seems pretty convinced that it's going to be four.

IF it's four, this is what I think:

- get a reasonable travel partner for WV: Cincy
- add the best football program not already in the P5: BYU (all sports -- I don't buy the football-only thing)
- get a reasonable travel partner for BYU: Boise
- TX requirement: Houston


If McElwain had stayed at CO St and they had continued the upward trajectory of the 2014 season into the 2015 (perhaps winning the MWC), then I might've picked CO St. But at this point, Boise is a proven product, and can expand their stadium to 50k and still sell out. Also fairly closer to BYU than CO St.

I know some people (particularly Memphis and ECU fans) hate the Houston thing. I think it is what it is.



IF it's only two ... man, tough to say which of those four priorities above is most important.

But gonna stick with my guns on that: BYU (all sports) and Houston.

But actually: BYU, Houston, UConn, Cincy

Yeah, I just don't get the football-only thing.

If that was a legitimate thing that could be done at the P5 level, then WV would've been football only.

Right now I think they are leaning towards 4-Houston, BYU, Cincinnati and most likely UConn.

No expansion.

Yup........it still comes down to Texas...

BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and Memphis.

If Texas wants to keep the big 12 together than going to 12 with byu and one from Houston, col state, cincy or uconn make the most sense. Jumping to 14 from that pool might work but it seems iffy. If the big 12 brings in usf, ucf or Memphis than I doubt Texas stays long.

I predict Memphis is not getting in. I think this board has gone way overboard on their inclusion.

BYU and Houston. The Fox and ESPN will not be able to stomach more than two adds given the economic realities. If he media partners insist on an extension of the media rights agreement and GOR, it could all fall apart.

I decided that I wouldn't talk about B12 moves since B12 fans & prospective candidates have that covered and keep the talk to who is moving to the AAC.

That's life in the second tier.

One thing I will point out for those who say 2 rather than 4, and include BYU, is that Aresco said this week that the AAC is losing multiple teams. The article is posted in another thread here.

Losing multiple teams could imply eventually but not now. We don't know if the Big 12 will invite two now and two later. And maybe Aresco is simply preparing for the worst.

I believe this to be the case as well. Nothing against the Tigers but their whole case for inclusion is mostly based on Fedex. I just don't think that is enough to justify an invite.
