I think he was right until recently, but I'm guessing a bit. I think he is wrong now. If Houston wasn't in earlier, they seem to be now.

I agree. But they'd lose money with the football program, even if they schedule Rutgers every year and are able to land some other yearly commitments.

Still putting my money on UConn over Memphis, but it's looking like Memphis has a slight edge given the season they had last year, stadium and location. BYU and UConn is stretching yourself big time.

Heck, Boise has gotten strong consideration since February, at least, afaik, and until last week, I thought they were coming in FBO with BYU.

So I think the supposed emphasis on academics was lip service.

If this comes to fruition and if Aresco stands by his earlier comments to stop at 10, then as much as I don't want Rice, they would fit in nicely... the west would be 4 private schools and Navy.

BYU on an island. Why add schools that would put them on an island? They should add 2 more to be the first to 16. That way, 6 schools would be built up until Texas and Oklahoma leaves. Add Boise State and East Carolina to make the Big 12 stronger.

Nothing is a done deal in regards to expansion until it is OFFICIAL

It wasn't dead at all. The media just thought it was. If you think the Big 12 turned on a dime due to the ACC deal, which they already knew was coming, you would be incorrect. The Big 12 has been debating expansion since late 2013. It has never been dead. It heated up in February, when they first started talking about going to 14.

No way BYU and UCONN play in the same conference.

2300 miles and 3 different time zones between the two ain't happening.

Of course, you're right. But it's not like a conference decides on a dime, either. This process has been weird, b/c it has taken so long, and b/c the Big 12 has made it so public.

I met with Aresco today. Arkansas Tech is #12

Some guy named Greg who allegedly has an empire and predicted things right once says Uconn is in. I'll take it with the same grain of salt i will take a guys on a message board.

Memphis to the B12 shows for a fact that this is a money grab for OU and UT before they bolt together. I don't blame them though for being told there was no market for a conference network and then ESPN announces the ACCN.
