The academic fraud investigation surely hurts, but all indications are that it is confined to just one sport, so I would bet it doesn't hurt much.
At least I hope it doesn't.

I think Temple should be on the map too.
Nothing I've seen in the past 24 hours changes my months-old opinion that Cincinnati and Houston are the top two candidates. After that, if two more were added, I see three logical pairs to choose from:
1. UConn and Temple, which give access to the Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania markets (combined population 36.2 million)
2. USF and UCF, which give access to the Florida market (population 19.9 million)
3. BYU and Colorado State, which give access to the Utah and Colorado markets (combined population 8.5 million)
If I'm a TV network executive I vote for Cincinnati, Houston, UConn and Temple.

Maybe NASCAR and Wrasslin should do the same thing just because of population. Oh wait, nobody cares about that stuff in the NE, just like CFB.

College Football Live idiots are so stupid that they picked these schools.
Houston (not going to happen. 5 schools in Texas is one too many for one conference.)
Cincinnati
UCF (not going to happen. They would be left on an island.)
BYU (not going to happen as well because island issue.)
They ruled out Boise State because they only think that the sport they are good at is football and nothing else. News flash: Last 5 seasons 20 plus wins in men's basketball. Won a PAC 12 wrestling championship recently. They are much better in more sports than UCF. The only reason they chose UCF was because of the large enrollment.

That actually wouldn't be a bad move by the Big 12, it'd be a hell of a basketball conference to boot. And it solves any travel partner dilemmas.

Kills me every time somebody says UCF deserves it because of their enrollment. USF is one of the top 10 largest in the country and bigger than every current big 12 school except Texas (by 1,000)

It is unfortunate that with as many students that attend both of those schools, they are all fans of the other Florida teams.

Another reason the Big 12 should look at schools that have been at the FBS level for a long time.

Boise State have an almost 100 year football program themselves. They have been winning at every level. They are not new to football, but have a long winning tradition all the way back to their Junior College days.

Mt. Union has a great history too. That doesn't mean the Big 12 should add them.

the problem with this set up is that Oklahoma is not playing ANY schools in Texas. If you add Houston, you MUST stick them with Oklahoma. The entire purpose of getting Houston is to stick them with Oklahoma for the fact that you'll have to split Texas and Oklahoma into different divisions. You want Texas teams to be available in BOTH divisions....
North-South divisions are a failure

Boise State found some gems in the state of Washington that the PAC 12 ignored like Kellen Moore.
Lol no school from the state of Idaho will ever sniff AAU status and an athletic conference affiliation isn't going to change that.

Yeah, but Boise State lacks academic gravitas. Look at Boren's list of the qualities he expects prospective Big XII additions to have. Boise State simply doesn't meet those expectations.
