I see that many are very excited about the top 10 list, but lets not talk top ten before anyone takes a snap. Need I remind that Catalon was beat out by a true freshman and was taking 3rd team snaps at Texas.

he didnt get beat out, he quit Texas after the first fall practice

and in the spring charlie strong said his sophomore season he intended for him to be an every down back and he was that good (the starter last year was a senior, he was a RS-fresh)

something happened in the summer that made him decide he didnt want to be there anymore.. i get they had an elite true freshmen come in, but you dont lose your spot in 1 practice

Quote:Andrew King ‏@Andrew_TFB 6 Apr 2015
Charlie Strong says RB Duke Catalon can be an every down back. Says he can run by people and can run a LB over.

and a 4star LB cecil cherry who transferred to USF the same day, released a text convo saying that the texas players were scared of catalon & how difficult it was to tackle him and how happy they were for him to leave, its actually pretty funny (link below)

http://collegespun.com/big-12/texas-big-...on-twitter

and literally some of our true freshmen tweeted similar sentiments last week

Quote:Javian Smith ‏@19PROBLEMS May 31
So who brave enough to taccle Duke Catalon this season ?...may god be with you

all im saying is that the hype train is here and i am fully buckled in and hyped up in my rose colored glasses...it premature but its too late now

Herman made kenneth farrow a 4 year starter, 3 year captain re-earn his job throughout camp, and made him take lots of hits. duke in 1 week of spring, zero college snaps treated him like a star player and held him out from taking hits...he compared him to zeke (a top 10 draft pick)..herman till this day refuses to give anyone else a compliment even ward.

Quote:“Oh, man, he’s the real deal,” Herman said. “He’s as strong and powerful a back as I’ve been around"

and to add to the hype duke's smaller and slower cousin BJ catalon (5'9, 190 4.5 speed) was a super star at TCU (duke is 210 6'0 4.4)

Not only did Catalon dislike Texas coaching staff, but also felt the same way about their offense style.

Well Texas was pretty dysfunctional when he was there.

You wouldn't have had to if our ball coach wasn't off the reservation.

This laissez faire regime is going to be the death of UC football.

Chandler Miller is a red-shirt sophomore. It's going to be fun watching how good he can get at TU. He's a home-grown talent too which is extra cool.

I noticed this is an offensive player thread and the Jim Thorpe award is for defense. SMU doesn't have a defense so I was confused,.

None of the rest matter.

Glad you dont have Marlon Mack on the list... and I hope ALL the AAC ignore him too. the kid has gotten bigger, much stronger and is even faster. Hes been total beast mode in the spring... and our other back Johnson who was already great, has made huge strides. Weve got a 1-2 combo thats gonna be nasty.

and btw... yall will be getting your first looks at Darnell Salomon. Rodeney Adams will be our best WR, but this kid in the long run I think will be the top USF receiver ever. Hes that good.

Their QB is not the problem. They have no defense.

lol i mean for the 2017 season, they reccruited quite a number of defensive players..

their defenes will be decent enough to win games in 2017...but they are never going to be elite in the near future
but their offense on the other hand could be elite in 2017, their best top 2 wr were freshmen in 2017, one of them could be a lottery pick in courtland sutton, they redshirted a different 4 star true freshmen last season for academic reasons, and they have 4star wr top 50 recruit trey quin who just transferred from lsu, who is eligible in 2017. now add that their top 2 rb were also freshmen

but their qb graduates this year, if they can facilitate a qb for 2017. they could be elite on offense
