How did we do last year? Against the stink? The same we have against them eight of the last 11 times. Geez. That's getting close to what we did with the Can'tamounts.

Yay you won last year. We won the year before... It is our third year in the FBS most of our key starters are still FCS recruits while you went young year one in the FBS, let's see how this pans out down the road. Nothing is guaranteed and of course I am biased but I'm gonna go with the team that only has to stick its head out the window to recruit vs one that has to travel half the country to put together the 117th out of 128th best class in the FBS and 8th best in the Sun Belt. Not to mention being the 7th FBS team in a talent poor state vs being one of only four in a top five talent state.

I have never rooted for Miami but....

To hear some GaSo folks talk you'd swear it was the other way around. Guess when you have nothing of substance you default to goats, banjos, erector set seating, tracks around the football field and the myth that Armanti Edwards committed to the Eagles.

Did you say nothing of substance?

I'm sorry I'm having a little trouble reading your comment because my view is being blocked by our big ole SBC Championship trophy, where's yours? Oh, and did you see our shiny new GoDaddy Bowl trophy? We demolished the MAC Champions to get it. I mean if we want to talk substance then let's talk wins of substance since that's the only thing that really matters at the end of the day. By the way, it must really sting to know how hard you worked to be 2nd in the conference last season, and y'all even destroyed us last year, and y'all still got a lesser bowl than us in a meaningless city to a mediocre team who by the way was kicking your collective tails for most of the game. Enjoy your fantasy land App fans.

8-3 the last eleven years....the gnats better hope SS and the staff leaves soon or they may never win again. As far as recruiting, if we are so bad at it, and no kid is his right mind would join our program, then how do you explain our success so far in the FBS, plus finishing 33rd in the nation last year, and a team this year that has a real chance to finish in the top 30, and is considered by may publications the favorite to win the SBC this year? By your logic, App should be at the bottom of the SBC, but here we are, winning like crazy, and we have already got the commitments from 5 3 star players for our 2017 class. I guess by Gnats logic we are somehow beating the odds.

I mean the series is 16-12-1 in your favor. (14-11 since we restarted football).

We've only won 4/17 times in Boone (23.5%)
- The first 4 games of our series were all played in Boone in the 30's.
You've only won 4/12 times in Statesboro (25%)

Our press box needs updating, and your track needs removal. It's comparing apples to oranges because one is on the field and involves many more people and is seen more on TV, while the other effects less people, but directly impacts people who give lots of money to the school.

This rivalry will likely sway back and forth for decades to come and it's good for both fan bases.

Very proud my stinky friend. First program to win a bowl game in their first year of eligibility, got you by a few days on that one, finishing in the top 35 in two major polls last season, two P5's at home in the next two seasons, one of the best up and coming coaches in the country, and our 2016 opener is being broadcasted nationally on ESPN. Have y'all accomplished any of this? You,ve won the conference, but that is about all you have on us right now. Enjoy it while it last.

Be advised: It's an even-numbered year. 04-cheers

You have won in Paulson Stadium 1 time on a year where we had more than 6 wins, and this probably won't be a down year unless we screwed up big with our coaching hire.

I'm not even gonna address that first bowl win BS. That is such a reach your arm must have fallen off. No one notices where you finish unless it's in the Top 25. Miami fans are frantically googling App State because they've never heard of you before. I am jealous of your future schedules, I'll give you that. Your coach will be gone in a few months. We've been on ESPN channels more than you. Been there, done that. This is getting fun

Dumb one, I said still as in THIS year. First, second, third year take off your shoes or just count your teeth if you need help. I said nothing about last years teams as we were about all FCS on both sides of the ball. Our only significant young FBS playmakers on our O is the third string RB and one offensive lineman. Your most important position QB is way better than ours as well and will be for the next two years likely.

All good I know recruit services are not Gospel and less accurate as you move down but good luck with 100+ classes, all the teams in that area seem to do ok......03-lmfao

That's not a myth...it comes straight from the mouth of Mike Sewak.

Not like anyone's trying to impugn on AE's character or anything for decomitting. Brian VanStupid wanted a third-string Southern Miss QB instead of him, and even if he had AE he would probably use him as a second-string receiver.

You'll understand if I take Edward's word on that. Find out from Seawak if AE ever visited GASo.

They did. As did Wake, Marshal, and others while Georgia Southern only managed to pen home games with Presby and UMass.

Maybe your campus is TOO assessable. .

Just stop with Miami, you had a FCS game you could buy out and Miami was forced to accept any terms. You won the tallest midget award with Miami. ArkSt actually landed them legitly.

GS will not get better home games until we can offer a decent allotment to visiting teams or we tank hard. Neither is not going to happen anytime soon. Short term pain for not throwing up the cheap erector set type expansion you see at some many stadiums these days.

It's good to know App has the influence to force a 5 time national champion into accepting our terms. Guess we made 'em a deal they couldn't refuse! 05-mafia

Miami could have played a home game with an FCS school, but with App's RPI being pretty high this season it was a good move for the them. You know Kleinlein would have jumped at the chance if the opportunity had been presented to him. You can keep playing FCS schools in your nice concrete stadium. I'll take playing 2 ACC and CUSA schools in our erector set stands.

BTW, when are you guys going to do something about that pressbox? I was in it last year and shocked at how bad it is. It honestly looks like a bunch of metal construction trailers that had been stacked on top of each other.

Wut?

Umm FBS teams usually are not allowed to play at an FCS for one.
Two of course if we were lucky enough to have an FCS game that weekend to buy out for a Miami we would have. But like with you it would have been LUCK not some miracle scheduling achievement.

As for the south stands, we could throw up some cheap stuff but we want to competed in the FBS not the FCS long term. The recruits appeared not to be bothered by our press box how did you do last year again?

Nobody said anything about Miami playing AT an FCS school. We reached out to Miami and they called back. We were able to move things around to make it happen. It'a done all the time. We did the same thing so S Miss and Wyoming to get some games they wanted. Guess they didn't have any other options either.

I haven't been seen the mandate requiring FBS stadiums be built with concrete. You better send it out to Stanford, UCF, SMU, Tulane, Houston and few dozen others who also didn't get it. As far as recruits go, we'll see in a few years. I'm not too concerned over not getting a few players somebody sitting behind a computer assigned a few stars too that's never actually seen them. I'm willing to bet the best players in App & Ga So history had no stars but out of high school.

We had SOME young starters, but our 2015 teams featured mostly FCS guys. Here are our starters from the GS game last year. Only the 4 in red came after we joined the Sun Belt. Next excuse...

TE 85 Burns, Barrett
LT 73 Harris, Davante
LG 75 Collins, Parker
C 60 Chapman, Jesse
RG 70 Gossett, Colby
RT 50 Nunn, Beau
WR 7 Jones, Malachi
WR 81 Beathard, Bobo
RB 83 McElfresh, S.
QB 11 Lamb, Taylor
RB 14 Cox, Marcus

DE 49 Blair, Ronald
NT 72 Fernandez, T.
DE 40 Norwood, Nate
OLB 6 Gilchrist, K.
ILB 88 Law, John
ILB 45 Boggs, Eric
OLB 1D Stringer, Devan
SS 21 Middleton, Doug
FS 3 Gray, Alex
CB 5 Gibbs, Latrell
CB 4 Williams, Mondo

Dumb one, I said still as in THIS year. First, second, third year take off your shoes or just count your teeth if you need help. I said nothing about last years teams as we were about all FCS on both sides of the ball. Our only significant young FBS playmakers on our O is the third string RB and one offensive lineman. Your most important position QB is way better than ours as well and will be for the next two years likely.

All good I know recruit services are not Gospel and less accurate as you move down but good luck with 100+ classes, all the teams in that area seem to do ok......03-lmfao

You also implied that our success the first two years was due to playing FBS players while GS has been using FCS players. In case you're wondering half of our starters THIS year will still be FCS guys.
