All fans are insufferable when their team is doing well. Houston is no exception.
Memphis, Cincy, UCF, all of them.

Raider JEFF troll is back again. Countdown to OPs banning in 3, 2, 1 . . .
I'm no troll dude. I've been a Coog since Keenim and Edwards were on campus and I was in HS during the end of Kolbs reign.
I'm going to go on a limb here and say Troll. I don't think there is a single UH fan who does not know how to spell one of their top quarterbacks in recent history's name. Keenum my friend, Keenum.
Even the most redneck of Univ. of Tenn fans can spell their quarterback's name b/c they memorize it from the back of their jersey. Therefore, move along.

It is not going to be the number 20 class. They are counting 16 verbals. 247 puts a high priority on the number of verbals versus quality. Most schools have only received 6 or 7 verbals. If Houston does not lose any of these verbals (big if), then it would project a class in the 40s. It is a good class but not what the op thinks.
Although your premise is correct, your claim that most schools only have 6 or 7 commits right now is bullsh*t. The average number of commits in the top 20 is currently 13. When the rest of the P5 begins to fill out their class, we will likely drop into the 30's, but that will still far and away be the best G5 class.

This. Houston had a "top 25" class last year for a bit too, ended up in the 40s. A lot of P5 teams, like texas, won't sign the number of 3 star kids that we will and will fill up towards signing day with 4 and 5 stars who take their time to commit. Houstons class probably will be the best in the AAC and I expect it to be better than last year's class, as if would be if any AAC team did what UH did last season. Realistically I can see us getting in the high 20s or low 30s by signing day. Ahead of some good not great p5s and the top of the G5.

Given all the questionable things that happen to inflate P5 school's rankings and deflate ours (G5's), a top 30 class is probably the best we can do and is something to be proud of. Just look at what happened when Lark and King decommitted from TCU and committed to us. Their rankings plummeted. Same with Cleveland, only in reverse. When he signed with Florida, he suddenly became a top 25 player nationally.

Here's a thought. Maybe recruiting rankings aren't the end all be all. I mean espn didn't even rank Paxton Lynch or Case Keenum. Pretty sure Kevin Kolb and Blake Bortles were like 3 star recruits at best and they both made it to the NFL. Plus there are plenty of 4 and 5 star recruits who flop in college (Hell UT is always reeling in 4 and 5 star recruits and they haven't won anything meaningful in years). I'm not saying talent isn't important, but I think its equally, if not more important, that a program has a culture in place that encourages new players to work hard and not get complacent. That's why having a quality coaching staff is so damn important.

Ok, these are not the teams that will be passing you. They are already ahead. The teams that will out recruit you are Penn state, Florida, Mich State and about 20 others that currently sit at between 7-9 recruits. It is not bull ****. Go look at the total list, not just the top 20 and that gives you a better idea of your competition, if recruiting rankings are important to you. BTW, right now your class is slightly better than USF and one point better than Temple and Cincinnat based on average stars. Not by far the best G5 class.
