Article says he was invited to the Portsmouth Invitational, which is the 1st step for guys trying to make the NBA. Juice got invited to that last year, but I don't think showed very well. Hopefully Boothe does better.

Pearson was invited and had a decent PI. Can't recall where he's playing but Boothe is far more NBA ready than either Juice or Rian was. He has the size, the body, some range and an excellent post up game. Remains to be seen how he does facing the hoop and his quickness has been questioned.

I wish he could have mastered that hook shot. If he could get the little hook to drop consistently I think he would look like and NBA player. Myself, I can't see him going right to the NBA. Maybe after a couple seasons in Europe.

He has that lumbering look about him. Difficult to know how fast and quick he might be until compared to the higher competition. No doubt he can have a pro career at some level. Wish him the best.

Rocketnation reports that Boothe has workouts scheduled with the Pistons and the Nets. He was not invited to the NBA draft combine though.

Could definitely be a glue guy. Team oriented, big body, sound fundamentals.

Reported on twitter that Boothe will work out with Toronto next week.
I've heard said that teams typically only workout guys that they are considering draft possibilities. Toronto will be the 4th team to give a workout so far. So, I don't know if he has a realistic chance of being drafted or not, but it's gotta be exciting for him.

he's gonna surprise some folks. has a lot of NBA skills. not certain he will be drafted but think it is quite possible and am sticking to my longtime prediction he will be the first rocket in the 2000s to play in the NBA.

It's amazing that we haven't had a player with any kind of an NBA career since the mid 70's.

Is it? We haven't won a MAC title in over 35 years. The two correlate each other.

Toledo Basketball desperately needs Boothe to get drafted. It could help a whole lot in terms of national awareness and relevancy for our long-suffering program.

Earning a spot on an NBA roster may be the second hardest US job to land.

First hardest being the caretaker for the lone tree on the BGSU campus... Job is rarely vacant.

BG hasn't won since 1968 and has had several NBA players in that stretch. Buffalo has had a nice streak lately and has none. Very few MAC players on championship teams or not make the NBA. And Toledo has a couple MAC titles over that period, just no MAC tournament titles.

Boothe to work out for Charlotte tomorrow. Also, confirmed that the workout with Washington also included staff from Miami.

RE: Boothe Eyes NBA
If my sources are correct, in the last 20 MAC classes, there have only been 17 players to play even a single game in the NBA. That's about a 2% rate over that time. UT had one of the 17, in Casey Shaw.
Of that bunch, only 7 had what really could be called a "career" in the NBA. Kaman, Szczerbiak, Boykins, MacLeod, Wells, Daniels & Newble. So, 1 CMU, 2 MU, 1 EMU, 1 BSU, 2 BG. Note that Kaman was the most recent graduate of that 7, and that was 13 years ago.
So, yeah, pretty rare thing for any player from any MAC school to make a career in the NBA, MAC championship or not.
