Greg Marshall Contract:
I don't think he would come to Memphis and I don't think we could afford him.

RE: Greg Marshall Contract:
I could see us being very conservative with the new hire contract given the situation we put ourselves in over the past few years.

Yep... Marshall's buyout is a deal killer after we sold our collective souls for Pastner. Props to Wichita.

The buyout is the same as Pastners (500k)...What are you talking about?

Maybe less now since it drops every year. He is losing most of his guys this year too. It would probably take $4-5M to get him which is unlikely.

He probably won't come here, but we would be stupid not to try and talk to him. Make him say no. Come on Lil Bill.

Wichita would have to pay him 15 mil to get rid of him. Can't see Memphis willing to do the same. Doubt he'd leave for less.

Jeff Goodman on Gregg Marshall: "People close to him have told me (Memphis) has been a job that's always intrigued him."

Hmmm. Seems as if we may have a shot.

Consider also that Kansas has a state income tax and we don't.

You do not know that. I could see a 5 year $20mil with kickers in play.

Figure in we will be getting the $800k from grizz again and the bump is TSF. Those alone justify paying Gregg Marshall what ever it takes to get him here.

Who is going to pay that? Laurie liked JP so I don't think he is going to show much love to the next guy.

"The search is obviously in its infancy, but to that end, here’s what I have been told: If Memphis is willing to pay top dollar, Marshall would seriously consider taking the job, if not accept it outright."

That is chump change for a proven winner. You see what Pitino is making at Louisville? We would be getting a bargain.
