All it did is put doubt in future prospects' minds that Cronin will be here for the duration and annoy a good chunk of the fan base.

I've talked to a few friends that are big-time UC fans this afternoon. Before this, they were 100% pro-Cronin. Today they're kind of "meh".

If there isn't an announcement regarding facilities very soon or some changes made on the staff, I think people will go from MEH to pissed real quick.

Hope Mick's mid life crisis is over and he will recruit some shooters and one more big.

Hey, they do it in football with the coordinators...

Seriously though, you know his brother or other members of his crew probably read the message boards. It has to have gotten back to Mick that not many people seemed overly concerned about him leaving and maybe that will be the wake up call that Mick needs to change his methods a bit.

It will be very interesting how much longer Bohn is here after losing the power play.

Mick's brother is still busy trying to prove how the UConn shot took 1.9 seconds.

I guess it depends on if he really "lost".

My guess is he'll be here as long as UC views his connections to the Big XII as being valuable.

One thing I noticed last night watching the tourney is how well most of the teams push the ball up the court on offense. Wisconsin is one of the few halfcourt teams that has had really good tourney success, but they pass and shoot so well.

Villanova did almost everything in the half court last night as well. Virginia is the slowest paced major conference team in the country. There is really very little correlation between pace and quality of team. Plenty of bad teams push the pace as well.

RE: Mick is staying
So, what guarantee did UC get that Mick won't be at Pittsburgh next week, or Louisville the week after Pitino gets shown the door? Did we at least get a higher buyout?

Mark, I agree with your contention. But is it also fair to say that VA and 'Nova run much more structured, disciplined offenses than UC? Both schools have elite teams this year and I don't think any of us would give a flip about pace if we believed the scoring droughts could end.

RE: Mick is staying
caveat, I am not a basketball mind; however, I would think that a half court team would want to get the ball in the area around the basket as quick as possible. Strategically, this gives you more opportunities in a set to make the critical pass that leads to an easy shot. By walking the ball up to mid court, you allow the opponents defense to reset. Since the offense dictates the action, you are taking away a natural advantage. Defending for a longer period of time in the half court seems to put more pressure on the defense, at least it feels that way when we defend.

rosewater, for not having a "basketball mind", you are very astute.

So what's the backlash on UA, if any? Willing to pay another school if they can take a coach from a school they already sponsor.
