This is a good place of recruiting news about Illinois HS recruits. I still wonder what affect waiting to offer some potential Huskies does for our chances of landing them later. WMU, Toledo, BG, Miami etc. seem to have offered many kids from Illinois. when you click on the player, most have not been offered by NIU. Seems like you would like to get your name in the hat so that if the kid commits early, you have a chance.
I think you have to remember, the only accurate list of offers is in the Head Coaches office. Edgy has only what some players tell him. I think our staff knows what thsy are doing and they have all the information at their disposal.
I know they get the info from the player but why would he not include NIU if he had an offer from us? I am not saying give out 500 offer like some programs but any football player in Illinois that is a quality player and quality student should be offered. Got to get your name in early. PJ has done that and has 5 commits from Illinois. We have none.
I think what GCD is saying is that we should trust that the coaches know who is a "quality player" and who we need to spend our time and effort on. I am not really worried that PJ might win another "recruiting championship." I put my trust in steady and consistent over flashy any time.
every school loses players they offer. Our philosophy is to handpick those who we want regardless of rival stars or what other school offered them. Everyone seems to be obsessed with PJ. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what PJ is doing, it only matters what our class consists of and are our coaches happy. And our recruiting philosophy has passed the test of time as our last 10 years have proven.

well we will see in a few years whether Carey is being out recruited by other MAC schools. Based on your assessment, whe should win 11 games next year. No drop off. I just find it interesting that Toledo, WMU, BG, Miami (OH) have offered more Illinois players than NIU.

Its not who you offer or how many you offer, its how many of the guys you really want in your program you get. period. No, based on my assessment I don't know if we will win 11 games next year. I think we'll be pretty good. If you don't get our recruiting technique by now there is no hope. This issue has been beaten to 100 deaths. You don't know how many Ill players we offered, I don't care whose recruiting site you look at.

I like how they used the basketball game as a recruiting tool too. Some solid players got offers.

Yes, many highly regarding players were in attendance. Many with multiple P5 offers.

Hope we can get him. It's been a while since our D- line had some dominance. It helps having former P5 coaches recruiting for us.
