Why do you say that?

Ford did well at UMass and he has had enough success to hang around a Big XII school for 8 years. He wouldn't be a terrible hire.

Ford is about to get canned at Ok. St. and his people have already been reaching out to WKU folks. He's a Kentucky guy, and WKU is a decent parachute when dropping from the Big XII.

Ford is from Madisonville KY and has ties to the area. I heard this rumor a few weeks ago but who knows? The players issues will involve a school hearing most likely

OUr beat writer just confirmed the suspension of 3 players has nothing to do with academics or NCAA....So at least we should not be in any trouble with the NCAA>..

The list of names floating right now are boring and lazy. Retreads, former UK players, and fired SEC coaches. Bleh. I am sure the net will be cast much more broad than that.

Highly doubtful it is any type of sexual assault. If it were there would have been criminal charges filed and it wouldn't be just before WKU disciplinary committee.

I'm sure it will all wash out eventually. I hope we can keep our players and recruits. Next year was going to be a great year for us.

I think the fact he went to UK would work against him.

Charlotte fans would be furious if we hired a Tar Heel. I'm sure WKU fans would feel the same about a UK guy.

Yep. It'd be the same with many of our fans. We did hire Ralph Willard as Head Coach after his stint as Asst. Coach at UK, however, Travis Ford played for UK so that's much, much different.

Yeah, well Horn played here and caught the first bus out of BG when a "major" (used VERY loosely) came calling. And honestly loyalty is the only thing I would care about.

Travis Ford's OSU contract pays him $7.2 million if he sits out a year, he had a few years left on a 10 year contract.

Travis Ford is not a good hire. Neither is Anthony Grant or Rick Stansbury. I sure hope our AD thinks harder then fired coaches. If they can't get it done with the P5 money they're not going to get it done at WKU. I also don't want Horn or Felton back. I mean HorNIT and FAILton. Sheesh.

The only names I've seen listed on message boards that really interest me are Scott Cherry and assistants at Xavier and Wichita State.

I'm not sure this is a fit, but Brad Underwood at Stephen F. Austin is a great coach. SFA has won the Southland Conference three years in a row with 32-3 and 29-5 records. They are 27-5 this year with a current 20 game winning streak and have won 25 of their last 27 games. The guy can coach. SFA plays West Va. this afternoon. He's worth a look.

well, point shaving would certainly make sense for a coach to resign.
