know more tomorrow
Nick Sunderland @NSunderland4
Spoke with JMU coach Matt Brady. No update on Ron Curry's status. No MRI has happened yet, Brady said. He expects to know more tomorrow.

Brady said Curry is out for tomorrow's game against UNCW. Sophomore guard Joey McLean will start in Curry's place, Brady said.

In addition to being a great all-around player, JMU's Ron Curry has also been durable. He made his 84th consecutive start yesterday.

Sunderland has written a story on Curry and the injury. He's traveled to Charlottesville to get an MRI. Probably will know something tomorrow.

Nick Sunderland @NSunderland4
Good news via text from JMU coach Matt Brady: Ron Curry has been diagnosed with a knee sprain and will be back at some point this season.

Ron Curry - time to shine
Great news from Brady's presser... he is classifying Curry as doubtful but not out for Thursday's game against NE. He is confident Curry will be playing some time in these last 2 weeks before the tournament.

RE: Ron Curry - time to shine
Quote: If star guard Ron Curry is able to return to practice today, James Madison basketball coach Matt Brady says his senior leader “could probably play” Thursday night against Northeastern.
Brady said Tuesday that Curry, who sprained his left knee last week, has yet to be medically cleared. However, when Curry receives clearance to practice, Brady said it will be up to the senior guard to decide when he is ready to play again.
“I don’t know if he’ll be terribly effective and I don’t know if he should play, but we’ll leave that up to Ron,” Brady said during his weekly press conference Tuesday at O’Neill’s Grill.
Even so, Brady still characterized Curry’s status for Thursday’s Colonial Athletic Association game as “doubtful but possible.”
“He’ll be back before the CAA tournament,” Brady said. “My hope is that he could be back by Saturday [against Delaware]. But again, it’s really going to come down to how Ron feels. And I’m going to let Ron decide if he can play or not play.

Ron Curry - time to shine
A very disappointing end to his career.
He played his worst statistical game on offense this year.
32 games and he saves the clunker for the most important game.
It was clear Brady was going to let him put the team on his back with the 2nd and 3rd leading scorers out with injury.
It is rare in college hoops to see a senior, all - league player fall apart like that.
I hated to watch it, hate it for him, hate it for the team.

Let's not let this post be the last post on Curry- he was a great player for our program. 4th all time leading scorer, very durable, very versatile, a great defender, and someone who got better each and every year. He stayed loyal to JMU and didn't deserve to go out the way he did. I'll be rooting for him in the pro ranks- he seems like a fine young man as well!

^^^^this. I really feel bad for Curry and Grays both (more so for Curry) considering the administration's decision not to pursue postseason play, outside the pipe dream of an NIT invite. He deserves an opportunity to redeem himself and won't be given that.
Wish him the best of luck in anything he does in the future, great player and human being.

That is correct. When it came down to crunch time he failed miserably. An average shooting Green tonight would have had Hofstra dancing.
2-15 FG and 0-5 3pt FG is atrocious and also happened to be his worst shooting game of the year.
Pretty sad to see him go out with that kind of performance.

RE: Ron Curry - time to shine
I thanked his mom after the game and then saw him back at the hotel and thanked him too. A great college career by anyone's standards. Greys played well down the stretch too. Two fine young men who are good models for others to follow.
