I look for us to have a good rivalry for that very reason. Fairly close, both schools where basketball is important. Ought to be fun.

I think the proximity will help. What is it, about four hours on interstate 30?

You can do it in just under 5 hours without stopping, and going slightly above the speed limit.

Throw Dallas traffic into play, and it turns into 5 and a half or more quickly.

I wish we'd bring back games against CofC OOC. Those games in the mid 2000's were always awesome.

Just curious

Would have to think this, if looking long view over several years:

1. Georgia State
2. CofC or Little Rock, depending on what era you went to Southern.
3. Mercer

We don't play Mercer anymore, the last one in their old gym ended in poor fashion with MU coaches throwing fists and the campus cops running their blue lights to the game, burning up College St. None of the coaches and administrators from those days are there anymore, yet that scheduling freeze has persisted.

It got almost shockingly loud for the Little Rock game when we made a push in the last minutes of the game. CPC really rocks when the crowd suddenly makes an outburst.

Both "at" schools (although we have dropped the "at). Both in metro areas. Both in football-dominated states.

Western Kentucky became a rival over the years after we got in the same league.

But for a sustaining rivalry over the years, it's probably South Alabama.

I wish we'd play WKU again. That was too good a rivalry to let die.

I agree: nice rivalry developing between UL and USA. At least based on the last game in the 'Dome, lol

1. Davidson or Western Carolina
2. Chattanooga or ETSU
3. Davidson or Western Carolina

GaSo was never a big rival in hoops up until the Sun Belt move.
