Basketball rivalries
1. Your school's biggest basketball rival
2. Biggest rival out-of-state
3. Biggest rival non-SBC

Just curious

For South Alabama, it's difficult to answer. We have had rivals that left with conference realignment and it killed the series.

1. I would say UAB, although they're not currently a rival we play. If we got this series going again it could be good.
2. USM or WKU. I loved playing the Hilltoppers. I love to hate USM.
3. See above.

In conference it would have to be Louisiana Lafayette and Troy.

I remember many a hotly contested game when we both were in the TAAC as well. Always looked forward to playing Little Rock and was happy we could renew that in the Belt!

Wow, I didn't know that Mercer was the top of the head-to-head match ups. How come this isn't played more often?

I do remember some real dog fights when Arrow was there the first time. I was surprised to see his overall record was a lot less impressive than I recalled.

I think Ga State is our biggest rival in basketball now but in football it is still App St by a large margin.

RE: Basketball rivalries
When they were in the Sun Belt, it was New Orleans. We had some of our biggest all time crowds against them

Western Kentucky became a rival over the years after we got in the same league.

But for a sustaining rivalry over the years, it's probably South Alabama.

I wish we'd play WKU again. That was too good a rivalry to let die.

Similar.

1. Texas State
2. I'd hope Little Rock would fill the bill this year with all the similarities between us, but then Hervey and our title run went down.
3. UNT

SFA was up there, but then we changed conferences and the battles we had are a distant memory. Then Kaspar went to Texas State...
