Thin line between a man of character and a man of stupidity.

It isn't a measure of character for Pastner to decide to forgo his money and walk away. If he thinks he's doing his best and he's capable, he's earning his money by going to work. If our organization was stupid enough to give him that contract, we suffer. It isn't character to walk away from a big paycheck. In our society, walking away from an unfinished job is seen as lacking character.

I think Pastner has character. He's just never been that good of a coach.

We basically paid him for recruiting and a pretty smile. He can't recruit anymore. He still had that smile, even if he hasn't been using it as much.

What should upset you more is this organization treated Finch like crap on the way out for performance that wasn't a poor as what Pastner's been doing. If Pastner was treated like Finch, he'd be underpaid and would have been shown the door halfway through last season.

A lot more than I believe he knows he's failed as a coach. The man specifically stated not a week ago that he believes he's done a good job at coaching. The only problems, in his mind, are HDTV, sports packages, the Grizzlies, Calipari, and eight or nine fans.

The man is delusional. He applied for the vacant coaching spot of his own junior high school while he was in junior high school, then ratcheted it up a notch and applied to coach the Clippers a couple of years later. And if it hadn't been for RC, he still wouldn't be able to get an interview from Prairie View A&M, for crying out loud.

Sometimes you defenders of the oppressed need to get a reality check. Calling a spade a spade isn't attacking it. It's stating an honest observation, and calling it anything else is obfuscation, at best, and lying at worst. Or should I say, being disingenuous.
