The biggest problem this team has had [in many games] is that they have played great and built up a big lead, and then have suffered a mental letdown/let up on the pressure which has allowed the other team to stage a comeback and even to defeat the Tribe. I think Tony wanted to keep "the pedal to the metal" so our guys would not think "the game was in the bag" and relax.

I was personally happy to see the Tribe keeping the first team on the floor so late - I would like to win all our games by 20 points or more!!!

With regard to holding on to leads, I completely agree. However, it seemed like we had our starters in after NE had subbed in their second/third team, and that can rub people the wrong way.

IIRC, last year NE left their starters in even though we had the game pretty much locked up, which led to Eatherton getting embarrassed by Dixon and pretending to be hurt.

RE: Northeastern Game
Okay, round 2 but this time up in Boston with only four days to get ready.

Cohn, Prewitt, Tarpey, and Dixon looked great against the Huskies in W'burg. Everyone shot well except from the charity stripe. Malinowski played well in relief of Tarpey and our bigs had an average night. Sean and Jack need to put a body on Ford.

IMO, this is the game that will either build up steam or toss a bucket of water on our fire. I guess both would create some level of steam but you get my point.

We did a great job limiting Walker just a few weeks ago so let's employ the same gameplan against him.

Do we know the status of Ford? That will be a big factor if he is still out.

No idea. I don't know the extent of his "upper body injury."

Won't Daniel or Terry be marking Ford? I don't remember who their big is, but unless they changed their lineup Ford & Walker are playing the same positions we play Omar, Daniel, and Terry.

Tony's biggest job will be to get the guys to focus on this game, not get caught looking ahead to the big Gold Rush event on Saturday.

Ford spends most of his floor time on the perimeter. Neither Whitman nor Sheldon will be following him around...

RE: Northeastern Game
When you play at Northeastern you play at the cold, old, dingy, ice hockey rink that was the original home
of both the Celtics and Bruins. The floor for basketball is dead according to many who have played there.

That said, I really believe our guys are now really beginning to play our best basketball and will come away with a win in Boston!

I went to our game there two years ago, and I must admit that I didn't find the arena dingy at all. It's definitely old, and it's obviously a hockey-first facility, but it was clean and offered many more fan amenities than we have at Kaplan. All in all, it was a good experience.

Whatever, the key is to win and rebuild our consistency. We need to bring it every game from here on out.

OK. You really need to stop with the igloo BS talk. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the damn floor.

It hasn't been that way since the arena was renovated in 2010, yet, the old wives tale about the rink and coldness et all still permeates on these boards.

Michigan State, JMU, Towson and Elin had no problems there.
Why will W&M?

Nice try. First, GeewizNU assures us nothing is wrong with the arena. Then, someone "accidentally" leaves the thermostat off over night. The next thing you know Cohen has the team coming out in ice skates and the rout is on for the Huskies

First, you can believe what you want ZN. Since W&M's struggles there is the team they played and not the arena.
Second, its David Cohn, not Cohen. So maybe you should know the players on your roster.
Nice try ...

Actually, it's Coen, as in Bill Coen, your coach...Any word on whether Quincy Ford will be back?

David Cone pitched a perfect game on July 18th 1999. The temperature was 91 degrees, 7 degrees WARMER than average. Forecast for Thursday in Boston is also quite warmer than average. We will try to keep the arena as cold as possible to avoid a repeat performance.

The Coen brothers are actually very impressive. Best Screen Play for both Fargo and No Country for Old Men. Supposed to be roughly 20 degrees in Fargo, ND at tip off time. No need to even turn the temperature down. That is pretty cold.
