Three-star South Dade defensive back James Wiggins announced a commitment to Cincinnati early Friday morning.




"I really like the school and the coaches," Wiggins said. "They made me feel like I was part of the family."

Wiggins, the No. 14 Miami-Dade prospect according to the Miami Herald, was a soft UM commit until he decided to back off his pledge on Jan. 21 after not hearing much from the new coaching staff.

Wiggins was always high on the Bearcats, even during the season (as noted in this October blog post). The Jan. 15 official visit he took helped in securing his eventual commitment, although at the time he was still committed to the Hurricanes.

Cincinnati has been known to recruit South Florida well and will be in the mix for several other prospects as Signing Day approaches.

Rollins has great hands and good leaping ability. He's 6'2 but I read on one site that his siblings are 6'6. Would not be surprised if he is at least 6'4 by the time he plays his first collegiate game.

here's a Syracuse thread on him (well the first page is, then it turns into a mild version of the nonsense we often have here, followed by objections to the nonsense, etc.)

The Miami Herald just ranked the Top 50 high school football players in Miami-Dade for the Class of 2016

They also do a top 50 for Broward (County). I don't know how they compare but fwiw here's where some ex's rank:
- Carriere-Williams (Wisconsin) is 29th
- Webster (Iowa St.) is 35th
- Parchment (N. Illinois) is 46th

If we can hold on to Wallaceand gain a commitment for Sails this class would immediately start looking VERY good once again, especially in the back end of the defense and the skill positions.

It appears his name is James Liu and he goes to Lutheran West High School in Rocky River, OH (suburb of Cleveland). West is a small DVI private school. It's one of those schools that get their butts kicked 45-3 every Friday by the other schools in the area. His name does not appear on the 2015 roster per the school's website. The only thing I can find from him is that he posted his name on a site for kids to get their names out to coaches/recruiters back in 2014. At the time, he alleged a 4.3 40 time and a 225 bench press.

He mentions in his twitter timeline he has been offered by Oregon, UC, Indiana and Ohio University. My guess it may be academic as opposed to athletic scholarships.

For kicks (or because I'm a glutton for punishment), I checked out the link. I would go with the FOS theory on this kid, and my assumption is that academics aren't in play, only based upon this morning's Tweet - "Thanks God that putted so much blessings on me!"

Someone on Scout is reporting Bailey flipped to ECU. That is a tough loss. OT recruiting looks terrible.

Also, 247's Iowa State site thinks DeShaunte Jones is a lock for them after his OV.

Wow. Bailey would be a big loss. I hate the idea of plugging our line with JUCOs each year - it's fine to take one every few years to meet an immediate need, but it should not have to be part of our strategy.
