RE: Drexel Game
For whatever reason, this is a pattern. Big lead and can't finish strongly.

Tribe cooled off late to make it a bit closer, but a solid road win.

RE: Drexel Game
Can't seem to play well with a big lead. Need to work on finishing. I'm not sure why a team with a quality 9 player rotation does run away from an opponent at the end of the game. A solid road win none the less.

Off topic, but Drexel's video production was really bad. Shaky camera work, audio didn't come through well, iffy announcers, scoreboard and shot clock ticker were slow to update, etc. Makes me appreciate the job Tribe TV does even more.

The whole CAA had and off night I think. NU's camera work tonight was pretty silly. I think viewers saw maybe 15% of the free throws taken through out the game. (Though the commentary was top notch)

No wonder Damion Lee transferred...the Drexel program is a dumpster fire. How the hell does Bruiser still have a job? I've seen nicer high school gyms than the DAC. You can clearly hear individual hecklers on the TV feed. How they recruit anyone to that place is a credit to Bruiser, must be why he still has a job. Love Terry finding his stroke again, makes this offense that much more difficult to defend. They had no clue how to attack our amoeba zone besides jacking up threes. Sloppy at the end, but any road win is a good one. Northeastern on Saturday is going to be TOUGH!

Good win for the Tribe. I'm always entertained by Bruiser's antics and hope he never leaves Philly

I guess you haven't been to the DAC recently, as they're still in the middle of a long term renovation. Seats are much nicer now, and the team rooms and locker rooms are as nice as most in the country. But the home court advantage is gone too by moving the DAC Pack from the sidelines to behind the baskets. Bruiser only still has a job because he signed a long term contract after the team won 29 games a few years ago. He's on year 4 of the contract, but this is likely the end for him. Things are really bad at Drexel right now. Attendance and interest in the team is about as bad as it's been since right before Bruiser was hired. Talent wise, Drexel is not nearly as bad as their record. He continues to recruit talented players, but I think at this point, he's just burnt out as a coach.

The only thing I'm concerned about is the way teams have attacked our zone by entering to the baseline. We don't rotate well there.

Imagine how good we could be if TT could score the ball like this every game.

I agree. Usually our feeds have been top notch in the conference, but surely last nights had a lot to be desired.

RE: Drexel Game
Very good road win for our guys...we were favored but road games like this are always tough.

Tarpey appears back in top form; he is a dynamic player and, now that he appears to have regained his shooting touch, very difficult to guard.

This year's Tribe team has tremendous speed, perhaps the most I've seen from a W&M squad in memory.
Cohn is a speeding bullet--Tarpey, Dixon well up there too.

Northeastern game Saturday shaping up as a very big game indeed. They are undefeated (3-0) in the CAA
and right now must be considered the team to beat as JMU and Hofstra have faltered a bit. JMU, in particular, lost its second CAA home game last night and the JMU boards are on fire.

It's like watching comedy central over there right now with the coaching issue and bball loss. For a good laugh read the "open letter" thread.

Also good fun is the JMU thread re the JMU vs W&M Women's Basketball game. [Although they may have moved it to "off Topic" by now] The thread starts out by demeaning W&M's winning record because of "low calibre" "cupcake" competition and then ends abruptly..... Ha, Ha, Ha!

The John DeFilippo thread is a hoot as well. One poster hopes he'll get an NFL head coaching job and be successful because the "Nerds" already have one. My belief is that we'll have 2 before they have 1.

He never said DeFilippo would be successful because we had a coach as well. His comment in response to someone saying that it would be great to have an alum coaching in the NFL was:

Quote:As long as he is successful, great! Especially since the Nerds have one in Pittsburgh.

There is a lot to make fun of JMU for these days but that part of the comment was not one of them.

Before we start calling other programs a dumpster fire, lets remember that we won (I believe) six games in 2010-2011.

Regarding Tarpey: remember that he missed a game after exams due to an ankle sprain. He's probably just getting back to top form. He did take a lot of Omar's points last night. Great to see us able to spread the scoring around.

Thank you. Drexel probably is a dumpster fire right now. I've been following them for 25 years and this is clearly the worst of all, and it will likely be the first time ever as a DI program that Drexel will not have double digit wins. But all teams go through peaks and valleys, and Drexel is just dug deep into the valley right now, but I'm sure they'll climb out of it.

RE: Drexel Game
Why are you guys talking about JMU on a Drexel game thread? Don't we already have a thread dedicated to their situation?
